Had to miss the Borzgen but ........

This popular restaurant in a neighborhood rivaling some of the coastal areas for poshness is worth searching out. I find the less than thrilled reviews on Tripadvisor inexplicable. If smoke bothers you, get a reservation before 8 p.m. when the crowds start to show up. The farmhouse set in a garden is lovely as were the paintings and modernistic gas... More

It had been several years since eating at El Firma and last night's return underscored my memory of it being a nice atmosphere with relatively creative dishes. Not outstanding, but more creative than Tunisian restaurants normally attempt to be with cuisine. In another country, it would not be a standout, but being in Tunis, it was worth the visit, albeit,... More

No surprise that this should be a popular place. The food was very good. Finding good meat in Tunisia can be a problem but this place can manage it. In my group we had both good lamb and good veal. The desserts were very good too. Menu looks extensive though they can't offer all dishes all the time eg the... More

The restaurant is located in a wonderful garden area. The landscaping is fantastic, however, the arrival experience was very poor since no one was present at the entrance to greet or welcome the guests and offer assistance. Once seated, it took the waiter more than 10 minutes and come and hand over the menus (in a very bad shape) The... More

I cannot go on enough about El Firma. As far as I am concerned this is among the best restaurants in Tunis. There are so many different places to eat and hang out; during the winter there is a cozy, French shabby chic farmhouse with a fireplace. In the summer a splendid courtyard, where you feel you could be at... More

This restaurant is supposed to be known for its desserts. My wife and I had a great meal with great service but desserts were sub-par at best. I would still return and recommend.
