The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is incredible, food is extremely delicious especially their breads. They bake their breads and serve them warm and fresh. I had a wonderful time there, it felt like having meal at a museum. Highly recommended!

We got a reservation for two at 8:00 pm in this lovely place in the heart of the medina that is adjacent to a lot of government buildings. The place looks like a renovated old house in the kasbah district, elegant and very charming. We ordered three main dishes and a bottle of local wine two mint tea and two... More

While the food is good (great by Tunisian standards), you have to see this place. The restaurant is in an old mansion in La Medina. Le mosaic tiles are fabulous and this adds to the charm. The service was efficient and the music was perfect. this was one of our best experiences in Tunisia.

I went there for dinner with friends. Starters and main courses (I recommend any "couscous" of course) were delicious, but we did not enjoy the desserts.

Great food, amazing historic surroundings with accompanying music and a good wine menu. We were told at the hotel that Dar El Jeld was the best restaurant in Tunisia and it certainly lived up to it.

My friend reserved this restaurant for our first night dinner. It is located in Medina, very close to the official residence of prime minister. Once entered, you'll see the different atmosphere from daytime Medina's bustle. Well decorated, and the building and interior exude a certain dignity. We ordered beers, the starter plates (4-5 different plates), couscous with fish and lamb,... More

Dar El Jeld is a must if you are staying in central Tunis. The setting is wonderful, it feels like you are dining under the North African sky, the service is excellent, we were getting along with school girl french, when the maitre d came to the rescue and spoke perfect English. The food is great and portions generous. The... More

Wonderful for a special occasion. Food is delicious, the space is gorgeous, the service excellent. It was one of the best meals I had in Tunis (I was there for a week and was out everyday). The couscous (with all kinds of meats, vegetables, etc.) is magnificent. Also lovely Tunisian wine to accompany it (I can't recall the name).
