Make sure you have reservations; it took us 3 days to get a table, even in early January. Magnificent setting with magnificent food (and you're able to get wine and beer! Woohoo!). Our waiter took us thru the menu. The fish couscous was like no other. My friend had lamb shank that rocked. Power went out halfway thru but they... More

Dinner at Dar El Jeld was one of the culinary highlights of our stay in Tunisia. Everything was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the setting is absolutely magical.

The first time I came to Dar el Jeld it was raining heavily, and we arrived to find that the reservation we thought we had did not exist. We were about to be turned away when a call came from the Prime Minister's office to say that he couldn't make it and his reservation should be canceled. So we got... More

The food and service is 5 stars. This restaurant used to be an old traditional house in the old city and it is very well preserved. A great experience.

It is one of those restaurants that you will always remember as an ex-libris of Tunis. It is best, when you go with someone local that can advise you on what to have

This is a real treat for the senses. The mansion is beautifully renovated, there is live classical music, there is delicious traditional Tunisian food. A much more memorable experience than the usual french colonial fare you get on the usual date night in Tunis.

An anonymous door in a quiet back street in the Medinah, reveals an incredible restaurant - a beautiful palace. Open courtyards, private rooms, a huge divan. Wonderful food, great service, unforgettable experience

Hands down the best place to visit in Tunis. Remarkable food and design. A hidden palace in the old streets of Tunis. A must try.
