thanks to TrpAv, we ended in this place our first night in Tunis due to proximity to our apartment...it was not mistake, place is as most of comments said, nice, simple, clean, non smoking, but there are other places like this in Tunis.... fresh fish was good but basic, my first brik in life was tasty...in general bit above average... Whenever I visit Tunis I go for diner at chez Slah. This small restaurant is a must do when visiting Tunis. The food is simple and delicious:brick, slata mechouia, grilled fish and some other options. But what I enjoy most is the friendly atmosphere and the waiters who will chat with you or punish you if you don't finish your... More

Lovely dining room in an old house, a couple of blocks from avenue Bourguiba. Good food generally but particularly fresh and well cooked fish and if you like french fries….. Excellent and witty service , good wines (domaine Shadrapa rouge, our favourite). Patronised by tourist and locals alike: On our last visit, a large group (12) of Tunisians were having... More

We have tried the 3 top restaurants recommended by Trip Advisor and feel that El Ali beats any one of them due to its refined food at an incredible price adding great service & atmosphere. The second one Dar el Jeld offers incredible atmosphere but not much else at a higher price... So how does Chez Slah compares. The fish... More

This restaurant located in the center of Tunis, the parallel road to Central Park Mall and Mohammed 5. Restaurant is very small and nothing special in decoration and setting, just plain, but atmosphere is welcoming, reminds me of a small Parisian brasserie, staff is nice. We had dinner, food is nice and very simple, the great point of this restaurant they have... More

Feels good to be in a non-smoking restaurant, with one of the best service in town. Nothing to add from other comments in terms of food and wine.

The best place in Tunis so far and by far. Limited seating capacity and pretty busy, so it's safer to make a reservation. Have been a couple of times and was very satisfied every time. Great value. I wish there were more places like this in Tunis.

I went there with my husband today (3/2/14). The food was delicious and the service of the owner/manager was also very good. We ordered prawn starters, sea bass and sword fish. It was very fresh and I would definitely recommend the food. Unfortunately, the experience was tarnished a little by a short, older waiter who took our bill money only... More

Took a while to find it, but it was worth the search. Great place frequented by locals. Fantastic wine and food. No need to look at the menu as the waiter is all to happy to do the ordering for you. It is also very reasonably priced 50€ for 2 including wine.
