The food is average, service is bad (they hardly see you), all spills on the table are being swept on the floor so you have to be careful where you walk. Prices are good and there are always people.

People flock to this place, I think since the service is the fastest, but not the friendliest, in Tanzania. It's a good atmosphere with open street views (essentially street seating), large flatscreens with CNN/CBC, and many local businessmen. The "Tanzanian Dishes" are the better bet, the pizza takes a long time, and the further you stray from chicken dishes the... More

We dined at Chef's probably a dozen times in December 2012 and January 2013. The restaurant is really hit and miss when it comes to service and food quality, so it's hard to predict what kind of experience you might have. The food is reasonably priced (less than $10) and the ambiance is nice. When we came here after a... More

Me and a couple of friends were expecting a nice meal based on the reviews here but it was really bad. We all ordered pizza and it took 50 minutes to get the food which would have been ok if it didn't taste awful. Fake cheese (looked and tasted like real imitation American cheese) and chicken on all the pizzas... More

The place an array of local dishes that are well prepared. It is a great place to take a break from the flat hotel meals. They serve breakfast, lunch and are open for the better part of the evening so you can also enjoy dinner there.

It was an oasis as apart from restaurants in hotels, we did not see any close to our hotel. Food was very reasonably priced and seemed to be frequented by locals as well as tourists. We had fish, rice and coconut sauce which was cooked really well. People in restaurant were very friendly and chatty.

We are not picky people by any means but did not really enjoy the food here. The burger was ok, salads looked quite average and ordering a pizza was a mistake. It was soggy and fairly average in taste but also had some form of grit which probably wasn't meant to be in food. The service was ok but nothing... More
