The food is average, service is bad (they hardly see you), all spills on the table are being swept on the floor so you have to be careful where you walk. Prices are good and there are always people.

People flock to this place, I think since the service is the fastest, but not the friendliest, in Tanzania. It's a good atmosphere with open street views (essentially street seating), large flatscreens with CNN/CBC, and many local businessmen. We dined at Chef's probably a dozen times in December 2012 and January 2013. The restaurant is really hit and miss when it comes to service and food quality, so it's hard to predict what kind of experience you might have. The food is reasonably priced (less than $10) and the ambiance is nice. When we came here after a...

The place an array of local dishes that are well prepared. It is a great place to take a break from the flat hotel meals. They serve breakfast, lunch and are open for the better part of the evening so you can also enjoy dinner there.
This restaurant is near in the town very good food and very fast also the have all kinds of African food and the price cheap compared with the other restaurants but if you want to catch the lunch you have to be early there around one p.m o'clock
Chef's pride is always my choose when ever i am in Dar.i love the atmospher, the fresh food all is great .
It was an oasis as apart from restaurants in hotels, we did not see any close to our hotel. Food was very reasonably priced and seemed to be frequented by locals as well as tourists. We had fish, rice and coconut sauce which was cooked really well. People in restaurant were very friendly and chatty.
We are not picky people by any means but did not really enjoy the food here. The burger was ok, salads looked quite average and ordering a pizza was a mistake. It was soggy and fairly average in taste but also had some form of grit which probably wasn't meant to be in food.
The service was ok but nothing...
