Delicious Food, Wonderful Atmosphere, Great Service

We very much enjoyed our dinner at Azuma, it was a nice change of pace from the usual African cuisine we had been eating. There was a good selection of items to choose from with varying prices. I had the veggie tempura and rice, while the others had bento boxes. The staff was happy to accommodate... read more

Surprised that this small place is passed by. We didn't, and we had one of the best meals in Tanzania. Grilled prawns, fresh and simply cooked in front of us, were wonderful. No crazy creamy sauce, just fresh grilled prawns. The sushi was nicely prepared and presented, and tasted good. Reasonable price and excellent service. This is not gourmet food,... More

Very good and quality food, especially the prawns! And the smell of seafood!! Everything is very good in this little restaurant and yaponiskaya food, and local food. The service is very fast and high quality. Seafood is always fresh and the chef prepares it for me - it's very tasty and tempting! I go to this restaurant again and again!

Azuma is a relaxed and informal Japanese place at Slipway... convenient if you have other evening business there, and it's the best eatery at Slipway at the moment. There's a range of sushi, teppanyaki and noodles to be had; the décor is nice and it's almost outdoors; the waiter and chef are super friendly. I often go there with a... More

Definitely a disappointing place.... you shouldn't expect much of it. If the service was quite good and quick, the food was not tasty at all. The sushi were not sushi and the fish didn't taste that fresh. The noodles had nothing in common with real 'yaki soba' (it was more too longly cocked tagliatele in ketchup sauce). The wine list... It was a pleasure to dine in one of the few places where you can watch your meal being prepared, with no flies. The food was fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and on point. Good place to take the family.

Simple place at The Slipway, good fresh food and service in a tiny restaurant. Prices very honest.

Located in the Slipway complex ( Msasani) catering to a mix crowd of locals and expats. Great variety in sushi and nigri. Your best bet is trying a Bento Box (~$10). On that specific evening, they were out of teriyaki beef and Tako rolls (octopus), nonetheless the chicken option and the tuna rolls were really good. The food was fresh... More
