I visited this restaurant a year ago and was very disappointed. The only reason I came back is that the hotel posted on their website that they have a new Thai chef, so I thought it was worth a try. It is such a nice hotel with generally first class service, and it is a shame that they can't extend... More

They have hired Thai chef for this restaurant and undoubtedly food was top notch.Only reason I did not give it 5 star was because of service.Food got delayed but food was worth the wait.

This is a real must for business lunches. Excellent fresh sushi, brilliant service, amble secure hotel parking. Have a drink on the roof top bar then down to the oriental for amazing food. A bit pricey, but a must. Highly recommended.

I must have tasted over 50 versions of hot and sour soup over the years, its a kind of quest! I actually make a special trip to the (expensive) Oriental every time I am in Dar just for the fish hot and sour soup. It is the best I have tasted out side Asia. The menu is not overly extensive... More

Went there quite often with friends or clients. The food is perfect, their salmon is exquisite. The service is fast and the waiters are taking care of you, might you be a group of 10 or just a couple. The wines are fine if you are ready to pay the price but are worth it. Would totally recommend.

I went there with a good German friend of mine. The food was so good and the portion was large that we could not finish it. Our Cloudy Bay wine was good though was a bit expensive for almost $ 75 for a bottle.

I was told that this is the best place for Sushi in Dar. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, the Wasabi was good, and though the Soy sauce tasted more Chinese than Japanese, it did the job. The green tea creme brule is exotic. Our bill came to $95 for 2, and for that price in Dar, I would have... More

I had heard that this was a good restaurant, but I guess it depends on what you compare it to. I understand they are famous for their sushi, but I went for ordinary Chinese: spring rolls to start and stir fried chicken. The spring rolls were crisp, but swimming in oil and came with a sweet chili sauce which tasted... More

One of the great things about the restaurant is the variety on the menu. The food was good, not great. THe service was ok, not particularly fast or good. The prices were high, not too high. It's clean and quiet. I'd give it good reviews overall but not great reviews. How many places in Dar can you get Tom Yam... More
