Cool retreat in Kasbah

Cool airy upstairs dining room, (no lift) with red & white furniture, live Moroccan music and spacious tables. Mostly Spanish customers while we were eating lunch. Beef kebabs and chicken pastille (filo pastry pie) were very good. fresh colourful rustic salad served by a friendly waiter. 6 of us... read more

This place is a little touristy but when we dined there there were lots of locals as well. The staff very professional and extremely friendly. The musicians are talented and authentic. The food is not the best but it's certainly tasty and of course they serve wine at very prices. We shall return without question.

Having not ever eaten any Moroccan food, we entrusted our dinner selections to the friendly, English-speaking waiter. We were not disappointed as he brought three wonderful samples of local dishes and a very nice bottle of local wine. We loved the location, price, food and service.

We stopped at this restaurant on a day tour of Tangier. We really loved the food and we were entertained with live music and singing.

Although this restaurant caters to tour groups and mainly tourists, it provides a somewhat authentic experience in a beautiful old setting in the Medina. We were with one of several tour groups that the restaurant accommodated during the lunch hour. It was obvious they are used to large crowds and easily handled the multiple servings. The food was Moroccan and... More

Went for lunch having been recommended by our hotel. Restaurant Hamadi is located on the outskirts of the medina. Restaurant Hamadi is very much a typical moroccan restaurant with moorish architecture, hanging moroccan carpets on the walls, low seating with cushions etc. We chose moroccan salad to start Dh55 followed by chicken with lemon tajine Dh80 and lamb with apricots... Just about the time that an entirely different experience turns up on life's ever changing menu, one gets an opportunity to have lunch in Tangier. Our opportunity arose at the Hamadi Restaurant in the port district of Tangier, Morocco. Apparently they were used to serving funny looking strangers descending from the cruise ships at this touristy restaurant, so our presence... More

We were here with a tour group for the day and this place was very touristy but we were tourists so fair is fair. They gave us the Tangier experience with a four piece Moroccan band playing as we enjoyed a tasty soup followed by kebabs, couscous, and an very flavorful honey pastry for dessert. We paid extra for our... More

We ate here two nights ago after being told that many restaurants were closed on a Sunday evening in Tangier. The interior was quite pleasant and the musicians were very good. We ordered chicken skewers which were tasty but everything else was a real let down. No flat breads (in a "traditional" Moroccan restaurant), instead stale baguette, a chicken and... More
