A Tangier must!

Nestled within the medina is Le saveur du poisson. It is a tiny, unassuming restaurant. In fact, we nearly walked last it. We went to this restaurant because it is recommended by Rick Steves in his book and it was recommended by our guide as a great way to experience Tangier like a local. When we read some of the reviews afterwords we were quite puzzled by the reactions of some writers. Let me say that you must have a sense of... More

Very close to the Minzah hotel, this is a place for fish. For excellent Fish, a place where locals go. Of you go with kids, beware because the food has spices.

I heard of this place through some business associates. One of my local contacts was kind enough to take me there for dinner. Set to the side of a bunch of shops and street vendors, you would have to know it to appreciate the location. The food is a set menu, no options. But all of the food was excellent,... More

Whatever you may assume about fish & the east - throw it out the window & start again! This restaurant blows everything out of the water. For a flat fee [so affordable] you get a 3 course meal with unlimited juice & dessert to die for! Portions are generous to a fault and the quality/freshness is just awe inspiring! So... More

Lunch at Le Saveur with Aziz, our guide This restaurant is like no other. It is very down to Earth; rustic, but pleasant The cooking is done over a fire adjacent to the dining area. Fresh ingredients greet you at the entrance. No sauces, just great fresh food. A very pleasant meal. great bread with olives 4 kinds of delicious... More

Had we not been with our lovely guide and people who had been before we would undoubtedly have passed this place. Halfway down a set of scruffy steps with poor quality stuff for sale this clearly very popular place. No menu, you eat off paper napkins and bowls some of the most delicious seafood i have ever eaten. Fresh, fresh... More

Came to Tangier for a very quick weekend trip with a girlfriend, and this restaurant was our favorite experience by far. We were led here by Rick Steve. Service was good, the housemade fruit juice phenomenal, and all the food very tasty. As other reviewers have said, there are a lot of spices used in every dish, so if you... More

one time, not more. If one is lucky, from st pierre otherwise an ordinary fish. Exotic, can be fun but it is especially designed to con you a max. The price continues to rise I think the package is 200 or 250 DH / person. which is a lot for the quality and service offered!

So our first trip to Tanger in June 2014 was a guided tour with a nice guy named Mohammed. Showed us the town and took us to this little gem for locals that has a set menu and a mouthwatering fish you'll wish was easy to replicate. If you catch Anthony Bourdains CNN show he visits it while on a... More
