A bit like a greasy spoon, had suitably grumpy service and mediocre grub at rock bottom prices. * I think it was chicken

Hygiene was really on the edge, judged by the condition of the sanitary services (the sink wasn't cleaned for a couple of weeks), so if this is an indication of what happens in the kitchen...

Finding a restaurant in the medina of Rabat is not so easy. There are the super-expensive ones (Dinarjat, etc.), and lot's of little street stalls, but finding a real sit-down place can be a bit tricky. Overall them tend to be on the medina margin (Ave Laalou, or Ave Mohammed V). At the southern end of Ave Mohammed V are... More

This is a gem right in the Medina. The price can not be beaten.....it is clean and the service is great...you will not find a better value in Rabat. I stayed in Rabat for a week and went a few times.....

Busy place, tight spaces between tables, elbow to elbow seating with an old style lunch caf feeling...the perfect place for a lunch break after the rue des Consuls shopping experience and before heading to the electronic medina.

This restaurant is on the main strip through Rabat's medina. Unlike a lot of cheap places this one doesnt look dodgy, it's clean and sooo cheap. We ate tagines and omelette there and enjoyed a mint tea for 3 dirham (20 pence!!). A fantastic find for weary backpackers, you'll pay 20 dirham for chicken couscous and its tasty too!
