We walked here from the Majorelle gardens (which are spectacular), it took around 15/20 minutes so we were hot and thirsty when we arrived. The lemon juice there was just what we needed and all the tables were well shaded! I had the couscous with vegetables and, being vegetarian I have tried quite a few of these here in Morocco... More

My partner and I did the cooking class here last weekend. It was the highlight of our trip in Marrakech. The tagines were the best we had on our whole trip. The kitchen was very clean and the staff were so friendly. It was also great to learn about this amazing organisation. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area which... More

We just spent an inspirational morning in the company of the staff of the Amal Moroccan restaurant. A fantastic welcome was given by the director followed by an informative demonstration by the ladies. A tour of the kitchen was followed by a leisurely lunch of the chicken and vegetable tagines in the tranquil gardens. This is a brilliant organisation and... More

As a local I am usually very hesitant to go out to eat "typical Moroccan food" but someone told me about this place so I gave it a shot and I am so happy that I did! The Friday couscous was very much a surprise to my taste buds! It was much more than I expected and I am very... More

I came to the Amal center at least once a week while I was living in Morocco! The food is absolutely incredible, very true to traditional cooking, the women are so friendly, the center itself is beautiful and located in the heart of Gueliz, one of the nicest areas in Marrakech, and it is for an incredible cause. The Amal... More

Today my boyfriend and I visited the Amal women's association for an authentic Moroccan cooking class and meal. It was an experience we thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend. Besides the cooking class and delicious chicken tajine, we were given a real insight into the running of the non-profit organisation and the benefits this community initiative has provided to local... So glad that we looked up this place on Trip Advisor because we would have hated to have missed it. We can honestly say that the two lunches that we ate there were the best meals that we had in Marrakech and that includes the supposedly haute cuisine restaurants. They change the menu daily so you know that all is... More

2 friends and I participated in the cookery course at the centre, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The women were all very friendly and helpful. We cooked a chicken tagine, and a vegetarian tagine, which both tasted amazing, (due to the women not us!!!). The restaurant is easy to find, and when we got there the setting and the... More

My husband and I emailed to book a cookery class before leaving for Morocco. We had a wonderful time at this inspirational centre. First we were shown to an immaculate little bathroom to wash our hands in preparation for our class, and given aprons to protect our clothing. First of all we were shown how to prepare a traditional lemon... More

Oh my.......what a fabulous meal and drinks. This would be my favourite meal in Marrakesh so far. It was not too difficult to find, we walked from the new shopping centre (Carre Eden) & went out the back entrance up the street. The lemon juice with mint was the perfect drink on a hot day. It was so refreshing and... More
