Unique spot on the edge of the square

Set on the edge of the square with great views from roof terrace, les Premices doesn't look special from the outside. However, the food is inexpensive. I went here with a big group, and as with all things, the bigger the group, the more mistakes get made regarding food orders. We were overcharged for things we didn't buy, a lot of the food (especially that ordered by meat eaters) was cold or at best lukewarm.... When with a smaller group though, there were no mistakes and... More

Ideally placed on the market square. We enjoyed our lunch here, very tasty and cheap with great views of the square.

We ate 3 times in this restaurant and I was very impressed with the beef Berber Tajine. Seems that pizza is not their strongest dish as my wife tried one day. But we marked this place as our safest option in the square.

Touristy spot above the main square and the service was a bit slow and curt. However, the food was surprisingly delicious, especially the lamb tagine - super tender lamb and delicious flavour of preserved lemon.

Situated in the south east corner of Jemaa el Fna, Les Premices offers a welcome escape from the sensory assault of the square itself. I wouldn't recommend as a destination for a meal, but well worth the price of a coffee or soft drink to sit on the first or second floor terraces which overlook the square below. The toilets... That is what we ordered at any rate. What arrived was a cup of coffee with a topping that appeared to have come from a jar labeled Marshmallow Frosting. Very odd indeed and disgusting. Next arrived the ice cream and instantly recognized the "cream" on that! One and only visit I assure you!

We had a few drinks on the terrace after a few hours in the souks et al. The terrace is excellent as it is removed from the incessantly loud sounds of the square - drums & snake chambers. A wonderful place to relax after the souks, etc and away from the sun and noise of the traffic.

It's the terrace here that's the best thing. Grab a table by the edge and watch the scene unfold below you in the square. The service is pleasant, the food is fine- nothing special, but perfectly nice - and you can sit there for as long as you like. We came twice because the experience was so pleasant. And it's... Lovely restaurant with a roof terrace overlooking the Djama el fna. Good quality, good choice and good service! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
