A 20 Dirhan taxi ride from the kasbah to the new city Gueliz and a small husband-wife run restaurant called Amaia. The husband is of Italian heritage and the wife’s parents are French but both of them were born in Morocco and are considered ‘pied noir’ – black feet. The service was warm and friendly, attentive but not over-bearing, by... More

Decided to book a table at Amaia having read the very favourable reviews on TA. We were not left disappointed. Warm and friendly armosphere, very good service, teriffic food and great value. The steak was outstanding. We have been to many restaurants in Marrakech where, as non smokers, we couldn't wait to leave due to the smoke filled atmosphere. The... More

Thank you for your great post about our food, service and ambience. I also thank you to mention that we are a smoke- free restaurant. It is not an easy thing, as there is no legislation about this problem in Morocco. Resident customers do want to smoke in restaurants, we try to educate them.... Kind regards E. Garozzo More

We came in without a reservation, we decided to try it because it was walking distance from our hotel, and lucky for us, they had a table for 6 available. The service was fast, which is rare in Morrocco. The food was well executed, the pasta was good, and what I understood everybody else in the group loved their meat.... More

Having been recommended a few restaurants in Marrakech, we found this one completely by accident and im forever gratefull that we did, the place is fantastic, small enough to be personal and the food was the best in Marrakech. The owner was delightfull and we still talk about Amaia as the jewel in the crown. Please go here - fantastic......

Really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. The owner took his time to recommend some wine while we waited for a table. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. If I had one suggestion for improvement it would be for the Moroccan behind the bar to be more attentive and assist serving food, as when the owner is... More

Thank you Mister for your post and really pleased that you enjoyed your moment at Amaia. Most of our clients prefer a relax service at the end of the meal, sorry for my mistake. Abderrahim is an very efficient guy. Next time, I can recommand "the Marrakesh mood" & our desserts! Kind regards. E. Garozzo More

We visited Amaia as it was the highest rated restaurant on TA that was located within walking distance of Hotel Tempoo where we were staying. We asked the front desk to make us a reservation for dinner at 8pm that night but were informed the soonest they'd fit us in was 10pm. We decided to take a walk and just... More

I found this restaurant on trip advisor and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Able to book using the email link which saved any disappointment. Got a taxi from the main square for 100 MAD so easy to get to from the medina and worth it for the break from all the hubbub in the main square. The food was excellent... More
