We visited this Restaurant week of the 10th Feb 2014. Lovely premises, there was one over active child running mad in the restaurant, she appeared to be the child of one of the Manager's of the premises, she was disruptive and it was way past her bedtime. We viewed the menu and chose starter and main course from what looked... More

We loved the place under the old ownership, had heard mixed reviews but thought we should give it a go. Decor was quite nice, and the waitress was friendly. The music was awful - completely unsuited to the place - but it clearly suited the owner who spent the entire evening with a few close drinking buddies at the bar.... More

Visited Le Chat Qui Rit right after New Year's and still regret it. The restaurant is refurbished and looks quite fancy, but the lighting was too bright to create an atmosphere. Food was decent (Italian), but the service was horrendous. We got the bread after the food, wrong Coke, never received the beer I ordered and impossible to get in... More

Le Chat qui rit still exists but looks like it is a totally different place, under new ownership would be my guess. It's now quite a funky looking, slightly contemporary Italian place vs the previous French provincial and quirky one before. Did not eat there as wanted some French food....headed to Bagatelle which is still very much there.

We took a taxi to this restaurant and it was closed. In fact it had been gutted and looked like a building site. The doorman at the Joel next door told us it no longer existed.

Le chat is located outside the medina and we decided to go there for lunch on our way to essaouira. The food was great and the owner was personally engaging with all the customers in the restaurant. The service was good as well. I would def recommend this place for a nice hearty Italian meal.

We thought this would be a nice change from tagines etc as other reviewers have said, but I was so disappointed with Le Chat qui rit. The dishes are quite old fashioned and uninspiring, italian food at its worst. There are some other Italian restaurants in Gueliz which I wish we went to instead. My carpaccio was OK but way... More
