Do not get discouraged by the weird street or the entrance, this place gets animated after 9pm and looks like a very friendly getaway from the smells of Medina for mainly French locals and tourists. Good fresh seafood, ncluding different types of oysters (very good baguette as well!)

We booked Chez Mado for our 25th Wedding anniversary last Tuesday (25.02.14), set in a little back street this place is amazing. Great bistro type setting, fantastic seafood choice (meat too if you prefer) we couldn't have made a better choice, really good value too. The waiters are knowledgeable and very attentive, the owners look after you very well too,... More

International French cuisine has a delicious history in Marrakesh. Chez Mado is one of, if not the best French restaurant in the city. (Locals debate.) They specialize in seafood dishes. If you want to taste some of the finest in Moroccan French tradition, make a reservation. They will pair the wine for you and make you feel welcome with true... More

A relaxed and friendly bistro serving fish and other dishes. I had seabass cooked in salt which was excellent. My friends had red mullet. All beautifully cooked and presented and the Moroccan wine was good too. Not expensive. Highly recommended.

We found this restaurant by looking on tripadvisor and wish we had known about it before, as it is our last night. The food was first class and although we were attracted by the delicious fish dishes there was also a good choice of meat and pasta dishes. The service was excellent and made easier for us with having an... More

Modern restaurant in Gueliz area next to Hotel DIWANE. Not easy to find. Run by Alex and Karinne carefully and in memory of grandparents who arrived from France via Casablanca are in Marrakech . Closed on Monday. The oysters Moroccan No 1 have nothing to envy with the French! The fish cooked and seasoned well with side dishes of vegetables... More

Not just the best meal that we had in Marrakech, but possibly in the top ten of meals that I have eaten anywhere. Small and very friendly restaurant that we spotted while walking back to the hotel: it looked nice so we went in and asked to reserve a table for the evening. Staff very freindly then, and more so... Chez Mado is not difficult to find but is in a quiet side street. The decor is modern and crisp in tones of red and brown and the service is friendly and efficient. Inside the front cover of the menu is the story of Mado (Madeleine - the chef's grandmother) after whom the restaurant is named. It is a lovely... More

We had a dinner in the restaurant on our first night in Marrakesh. We had oysters, which are very good (we preferred the no.2 over the no.1 of the same origin). My husband had a plate of seashells and another plate of shrimps with mayo. Both were very fresh and yummy. I had a big lobster for my main plate.... More
