Dined April 2010. Chose this restaurant out of the "top ten" recommendations from various books / websites. it was my second visit to morocco and have eaten in a variety of other places (and had a great time - i love morocco and will go again). i have travelled a lot internationally and my favourite moments have always been associated... A big disappointment! For the fixed price menu of 60 euros per person, Le Tobsil offers an extremely limited choice of food for a place like Marrakech where you can easily have a great meal for 30 euros. The Moroccan salad was quite ordinary, followed by a chicken tagine, then followed by a lamb tagine and cous cous, plus dessert.... More

We just came back from a week in Marrakech and we ate at several restaurants, including Le Tobsil, Comptoir, El Fassia and Marrakchi. Le Tobsil was definitely the best. It is very difficult to find, as others have said, but if you ask anyone on the way they will tell you where it is. It is not far from the... More

fixed, no choice menu, all drinks included, and service impeccable. would have preferred to have been offered a choice of table considering we had booked well in advance and also later arriving couples offered upstairs tables which we would have preferred. unusual but traditional moroccan menus with 2 tagines, was looking forward to the pigeon pastilla which is mentioned in... This was just the best restaurant in Marrakesh we visited. Located down a winding dark alley, it was well worth the trek to discover. While you would never know it existed make sure you book as it is so popular it is not a walk-in. Everybody from the moment the door was opened to the moment we left was wonderful.... More

Being met by a guide and taken down alleyways adds to the experience of an evening at Topsil. The menu is fixed, but there are so many dishes that I dont think anyone would be disappointed. We started with several salad dishes and mezze and then had 2 tagines (chicken and lamb) followed by 2 desserts. The room is a... More

I booked for our first night dinner wanting great food in a romantic atmosphere. It delivered on the setting but this is basically what you are paying for! When I first made the booking, I was told it was a set menu and when I said we did not eat lamb, we were told they would substitute the lamb course... More

Le Tobsil is a very cosy, intimate, romantic restaurant to have dinner. It is difficult to find though and is located in an area where you would rather not lose your way. Fortunately they have someone posted at the main street to accompany you to and from the restaurant from there. At Le Tobsil they serve a set menu. The... More

Including nibbles etc, 6 courses in 90 minutes! First impression on entering was a calm, tranquil romantic setting but from the moment we sat down everything was designed to get us out again as quickly as possible, presumably to pack the next lot in. Never were we asked if we were ready for our next course rather, with barely time... More
