Expensive, but quite good Moroccan cuisine

Cosy restaurant in the Mouassine area of the old medina, not too easy to find it as all restaurants in the Medina, but the boys were ready to help...for a tip of course! The atmosphere was quite pleasant with Gnawa musicians performing and the service and the Moroccan cuisine too... This... read more

From the moment you enter Le Tobsil, you embark on one of the finest dining experiences you will ever have. The atmosphere is elegant, the service impeccable, and the culinary experience is legendary. Chef Mountassamim's execution of traditional Moroccan dishes is the benchmark, as is Christine Rio's warm hospitality.

We had been really looking forward to going to Tobsil - however, it was an absolute nightmare to find, and when we got there, it was closed with no explanation! Huge disappointment.

Forget all you learnt in marketing 101 about signage and exposure, le Tobsil is a hideaway to dream of. To get there we were met in the main road by a guide to walk us to the externally most unpretentious building down an ally with a small A4 size plaque on the wall. Inside an Arabian Nights dream with the... More

This riad has been restored into one of the most romantic restaurants we have seen. Candlelight all around, scents of spices, and Morrocan musicians in the background made for a special evening, not to mention the excellent food.

We were met on the street by a guide who led us down several winding pink alleys to a door in a wall. The door opened and we were welcomed by Christine and shown into a courtyard where 4 tables were laid and scattered with rose petals. There was no menu. There were no prices. We we're brought course after... More

I would say that it is an interesting, romantic and expensive experience. The set menu seemed quite basic to me...we started with a selection of tapas-style dishes (about 7 in total), which I found quite mixed. The tomato/peppers and aubergines were very good but the rest were nothing special. The chicken main was. That but again nothing over exciting. The... More

We visited Marrakech in April for our son's wedding. We took the wedding party to Le Tobsil for a celebration dinner the night before the wedding. The food was authentic and plentiful. Everyone left full and happy! The musicians were entertaining without being obtrusive and added to the atmosphere and I felt the price was reasonable for what we received.... More

It's a little tricky to find this place but in th evening they have a few guides lurking near the main gate with a "Le Toubsil" badge around their necks & they're genuine staff who will walk you the last 200M through a maze of little alleyways. Ask for a table in the courtyard as it's a great ambience &... More

I was recommended this restaurant by Moroccan friends . Very romantic atmosphere and amazing food, couscous was exceptional . Services was also very good. Don't worry about finding it there is a person that will guide you from the closest Main Street .
