a little gemm

I came to Le 44 on recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The place is tastefully ecorated, quiet and cool. It's a welcome break from the hubbub of the medina. I had diner twice here, once on the lovely terrace, the second time in one of the salons,as a storm was threatening. The menu is... read more

We had a lovely dinner here, the staff was very friendly and professional. They all spoke english. There is not much choice for dinner on the menu (mainly pasta's and the chefs special), I would say that their range of salads and soups are more suitable for lunch. I would definately visit again.

Light and tasty pastas, salads and quiches. It's fresh and quite easy to find off the main street if you just follow the signs. The owner and her staff are friendly and relaxed. This was a nice break from the sweet, traditional Moroccan food.

The menu is small and simple, but we enjoyed the food and wine, and especially enjoyed dining on the rooftop overlooking the old medina.

Fresh but very simple food. Pesto pasta did not have much in it. Salad was simple but fresh. Tabbouleh was nice. I would not go back I'm afraid.

Not easy to find but nice and cozy. Elsewhere they write of frozen food, I really don't think so, we've asked for a chicken tajine with no onions and we had it, not that amazing but good. We've had quiche and pasta, both good, and strawberry crumble and tarte au citron, both really delicious. The owner and the waitress very... More

My girlfriend and I visited this nice restaurant upon the suggestion of our riad host during our time in Fes. Finding the restaurant had been a bit of a challenge for us as the place is tucked away down a low traffic walk way. However, those who are more familiar with navigating their way through the Fes medina may not... More

Nice cosy quiet restaurant in a back street off Talaa Kbira, near Bab Buojloud. Food was tasty and the owner and staff very welcoming and helpful. Pastas and tajines were tasty as was the soups and desserts. Menu not extensive but prices were extremely reasonable. Wine was good and various fruit juices and milk shakes. Cooking was done with fresh... More

The restuarant is off a street selling fresh meat, veg etc. None of this fresh local produce was evident in our food. I ordered chicken & olive tangine. Then was told they had no olives. In Morroco! My chicken was dry and overcooked obviously pre cooked then frozen then added to the thin tagine sauce at the end. So an... More

This is a very nice and clean place in a small alley of the Medina maze. You need to ring the doorbell to get in which makes it a bit special. There is a nice rooftop terrace with a cosy seating area. The menu is small but all homecooked. We had some quiches to start which were excellent. The pasta's... More
