OK I read the other reviews (I'm a huge fan of Tripadvisor) and decided to try it myself. I'd been to the bar at the Palais Faraj several times for tea or cocktails (and the Internet). Nice views - I think Fes is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. From the start I was impressed. Excellent service... More

Our Riad recommended this restaurant and we decided to spend our final evening in Fes here. Briliant decision! Everything was great including the subtle, live music. Delicious food (we loved the salads), lovely wine and the dessert was amazing - very thin pastry layers, almonds, strawberries and ice cream. And we don't usually eat dessert. Special mention to Tarik our... More

I went for dinner with a friend at L’Amandier, expecting a unique experience of Fassi cuisine served in style. We sat at a table with a lovely view over the Medina… but quite uncomfortable ‘designer’ armchairs. We were handed the menu. Then a cheesy waiter came to our table every minute at least half a dozen times to check if... More

The view is the highlight, the rest was uninspired and disappointing. The food was bland, the service poor and overpriced. Would not recommend.

A great dining experience! I had the veal shank tagine Mderbel ('tagine de jarret de veau Mderbel') that was topped off with eggplant cooked in two fashions (roasted on the side and pureed). It is hands down the best tagine I have EVER had, and that's coming from an American who's spent nearly two years living and traveling in Morocco.... More

Our guide was taking us to restaurants which obviously paid him a commission. They were overly expensive tourist traps. Finally we went on our own to Faraj and had our best meal in Fes. The service was perfect and each entre was very good. The view of the medina is spectacular. The lesson to be learned is many of these... More

We stayed at the hotel which is the best! So are the service and food in this charming restaurant. And the view is just stunning!! All the staffs are always smiling, they provide the best and efficient service. We had dinner here twice, the best grilled fish, salad…. Have to try seafood pastilla. Most of the restaurants in Morocco serve... More

With a wonderful view of the Medina. Ask for a table near the window. Very good service. Fed up of spiced Tahines we look for a place with international food, even though there is also Moroccan specialities. The food was very well prepared. The "briouats" a good starter. The fish very fresh. A very good Moroccan white wine, and as... More

We had a Moroccan salad with pastries - 9 different plates with delicious vegetables - and I had fish for the main course, and my boyfriend had lamb. It was everything very well seasoned and prepared. The olive oil, made in Morocco, was really tasty. There was also a nice view of the Medina. A bit overpriced.

We were attracted to this restaurant after reading so many positive reviews in tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. As it was NYE and my wife's birthday we wanted something special and the restaurant delivered an unforgettable experience. The setting is fabulous, what a great view from the bar. We enjoyed a seven course extravaganza with two bands alternating between Moroccan... More
