I will admit right now that I found the place on tripadvisor and went solely off reviews which were all great. The place is located in a fairly interesting area not a good or bad thing. It must have been the time of year but reservations are a MUST. If no one is staying at the house then the kitchen... More

You're absolutely right. Reservation is essential, and in fact our staff are not technically allowed to accept people without a reservation. Real Moroccan cooking takes time, and we've realised we simply can't cook to our standards without prior warning. Elixir is also located within a guest house, Dar Rbab, and we have to take into account our residents requirements. Perfection... More

We were on an 8 day tour of Morocco with Mark ( the owner of Elixir) as our guide and we were lucky enough to be invited here for dinner on our first night in Fez. We were served harissa, chicken tagine and yogurt dessert along with nice red wine. The meal was without a doubt the best we had... More

We have just returned from a business trip to Fes, and were strongly recommended to Elixir by a business contact. The recommendation was well founded. We were advised to book early and apon doing so, were asked if we would like to choose from the menu, as some of the dishes required considerable time to be presented at their best... More

The restaurant is set in the central courtyard of this Riad with a few tables, making it pleasantly quiet and peaceful. We have eaten here at this restaurant 3 times during our one week stay in Fes. The food is excellent, delicate & genuine. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. The hosts will look after you well & will provide... More

We visited the restaurant on a recent business trip and used it as a "working dinner". Food was excellent and the choice was good. The hostess, Ghizlane is charming, full of energy and fun, generating a great atmosphere; whilst her Engilish is limited she has no problem communicating and making herself understood! Mark (her husband) is an ex-pat so speaks... More
