So, the meal was really well done standard Moroccan tourist menu (with some exceptions). In addition to the Moroccan salads first course we had a fried eggplant that was great!. The standout for this restaurant was their willingness to give you a ride there and back. For the first time visitor to Fes getting anyplace as planned is hard without... More

Recommended by Syed at Dar Bensour, the place is gorgeous, the food really tasty and the owner a ball of delight. Left feeling over-fed but happy. Luckily we were walked back to the Riad - we would never have found our way back, and lucky too we had the chance to exercise at least a little after our meal.

We were picked up from our hotel and accompanied to the restaurant. The warmth and welcome by the owners were amazing. It was our second night in Morocco and our second Moroccan meal. The meal was one of the best we had during our visit in Morocco. Throughout our meal, the owners checked on us frequently to make sure we... More

...and that would be a great shame, as this place is a better. It does very few covers and there isn't much choice, but we were presented with many different dishes and the entirety was tremendous. The pastilla is really interesting if you've not had it before. It's worth going just to see the ceiling! Our hosts were really welcoming... More

While in Fes we were looking for an authentic Moroccan restaurant. Our local guide, born and raised in Fes, told us about Dar Hatim - it's outside the medina, across town, up a winding dark alleyway. The restaurant arranged for a driver to pick us up and escort us to the location. You knock on a door and when it... More

When you enter this restaurant, you are exposed to the mystique and elegance of a Fes medina home... transformed into a grand eatery. A warm and pleasant welcome is followed by a comprehensive explanation of a superb menu. We had artichoke lamb tagine which melted in your mouth. The aromatic spicing of this ample dish was flavourable beyond one's imagination,... More

We went to Dar Hatim as part of an Explore trip and what an amazing place. The food, atmosphere, charming and enthusiastic hosts. You wander through the narrow alleyways approaching the restaurant and then enter this amazing space. All the superb decoration (hand carved by the hostess's brother) and amazing authentic food (certainly the best we had in Morrocco) added... More

Fouad (the owner) came to our riad to pick us up and drove us to his home/restaurant. His wife Karima was very pleasant and attentative. The best part of the meal was the hot salad spread which including eggplant dishes, lentils, cauliflower, olives, carrots, potatoes etc. The steamed lamb was by far the best main, with the pastilla a close-second.... We stayed at Dar Seffarine and other guests had dined here the night before and enjoyed it. As others have said it is a little hard to find, especially at night, so they send an escort which is a very nice touch. It is like going to your favorite aunt's house for dinner. Everyone is very happy to see you... More

We were guided through the medina who by a guide who ended the tour at restaurant dar hatim which he called a clean, family restaurant. That was true but so is a whole lot more. This was the best meal we've had in Morocco by far! The salads were delicious and varied. I had the pastilla which was delicious and... More
