Dar Hatim is a family owned restaurant that was recommended to us by our hotel management. The son of the family graciously taxied us from our hotel to the restaurant and back. Thinking on its location, I don't think I would have found the place on my own at night. The things I liked about Dar Hatim: 1. Good hospitality... More

Our Riad found itself without a cook on our first evening so booked us into this restaurant instead. Fes Medina is a maze of alleys so without an escort from the Riad we would never have found this outwardly unassuming entrance. Once inside the welcome was warm and the interior inviting. This is a home with a restaurant and the... More

The food was excellent as the service. Everyone is extremely friendly which makes the experience even better. They can come and pick you up which is a plus.

Everyone in our party of twelve raved about this place after our meal, from the fantastic decor (ask about the intricate handmade carved wooden ceilings, all made by the owner's brother-in-law!) to the wonderful food. Go on an empty stomach, because there is plenty to eat, with a huge range of starters. A number of us, for our main dish,... More

We had the pleasure of dining here last week while in Fez. We were met at our hotel by a relative of the owners, who walked us to the home, which looked absolutely spectacular. The hosts were super friendly and eager to please. The menu had five choices for the main course. We ordered different mains and split them. I... More

A restaurant experience with a family feel. We enjoyed a home-cooked (literally) Moroccan meal in this gorgeous home. The bottom two floors contain beautiful dining areas with the ability to accomodate larger parties (we had 10 in our family) and maintain an intimate feel. The food was better than average, standard Moroccan fare with the special "Pigeon Pie" a must!!... More

Hatim is the name of Karima and Fauad's first born son, and the cooks are Fauad's wife, Karima, and his mom. Fauad and Karima are the sweetest couple, who showed us their home, and took us back to our hotel. Karima's specialty, chicken pie, was just amazing beyond words! The turkey skewers were delicious as well. Come in with an... More

We had our dinner here our first night in Fez. The owner introduced us to the menu.... Four choices with no room for negotiation. I was looking for just the salad, but no way was she having it. All three courses had to be eaten. The food was mediocre. The prices were high. Please stay away....

Besides the tasty and varied food at Dar Hatim, the passion and love of the owners makes the experience a fun one. The house is spectacular and the variety of so many tasty dishes makes for a great evening. True Morocco!!

Totally passionate about each and every plate, sauce, and taste, this family has it going on! Their home is absolutely beautiful, taking pride in their personal and professional image.
