Neat restaurant in the Fez medina

Our guide took us to this restaurant for lunch whilst on a tour of the Fez medina. The restaurant is in a restored building that was once a house of a wealthy family. My wife and I are not used to eating large mid-day meals, especially with the large breakfasts served at the riad where we were... read more

I'm surprised by the few negative reviews. We found this Riad-set restaurant to be charming, relaxing and truly authentic. The first course of the cooked veggies on the fixed-price menu was ample, varied and tasty and the main course of the chicken pie was equally good. The cook was proud of the dishes she prepared and rightfully so. We would... More

We were very disappointed with our meals. Once you have been dropped here you can't just wander somewhere else, you will get lost- it's a trap. Set menu starting at 120 dirhams + drinks on top. Hotels and tourist groups get commission from sending their guests here,so they will push this restaurant to you. The food was bland, beans/lentils out... More

Thank you, For the next time you will to asking if the place has many clients or no, if you told me before I will to cancel all my reservation just for you. To know, this is traditionnel restaurant and is for every guests not just for you alone, also, you remember the time that I told you, some time... More

Recommended by our Dar, we were greeted warmly by the adult daughter, who took great pride in her family's cooking. Four of us shared a terrific mezze first course (really enough for dinner!). Service was attentive, not rushed, with a nice wait in between courses. There were a few tables in the dining room, and conversations between tables evolved (we... More

Not easy to find, but someone from the restaurant came to collect us - all part of the service. Fouad and his wife were charming and helpful, explaining all the dishes and answering our questions. Traditional local food - tajines, couscous, pastilla - beautiful bread. Our group of 8 loved all of it. No alcohol served, but, honestly, the food... More

It was a real treat to experience Moroccan hospitality at its best by the owners of this fabulous restaurant. The food was fantastic and the pigeon pastilla was better than its hype. Be careful that after you eat at this restaurant the other Moroccan restaurants may not measure up in taste as has happened to us over the last two... More

We had a terrific dinner here. They had 4 different set menus with some options beyond the standard chicken or lamb tagine. The food was delicious and it was nice to be in a family run restaurant.

The medina is difficult to navigate and maps help only a little bit. Luckily, this place will pick you up at your riad and take you to theirs to feed you a great meal. This was the only place in all of Morocco that fed us a traditional meal with lots of salads and pastilla. The meals come with all... More

It was pouring down rain and we were looking for a place for dinner. Our hotel recommended Dar Hatim. There were 5 entrees covering a wide gamut. Plenty of complimentary appetizers. No alcohol on the menu but we saw a couple bring their own wine. Everything looked fresh and tasted wonderful. This was in a private home. The wife does... More
