Description: An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. Reservations essential.

Remarkable decor, delicious food -- a break from the traditional Moroccan fare, which we loved but it gets tiring after a while -- elegance, hospitality, an incredible night. It's hard to find Dar Roumana but worth the hunt (use your smart phone GPS) to escape into its luxurious experience.

Ate here twice during a four night stay with my wife and three daughters including Christmas night with entertainment. Food absolutely superb. Great little wine list, easy to navigate, all three selections we tried were excellent. Choices to appeal to all tastes and each and every dish was outstanding. Don't miss the opportunity if they have a special five or... More

During a 10-day stay in Morrocco we ate at a few of the most highly acclaimed restaurants in Marrakech and Fez, and Dar Roumana took the top prize. The beautiful 7-table restaurant in an elegantly restored riad near the edge of the medina was a welcome place of tranquility after the hustle-bustle of the day. And the french cuisine with... More

We had a great meal in the Dar Roumana on our last night in Morocco. We arrived about 45 minutes early (our fault) and before service started, but they put us in a great side room with a nice fire (a must in the winter in Fes, we found out), and served us tea and wine until they were ready... A fantastic meal, in an intimate and extraordinarily beautiful setting. Everything was perfect actually - from the fresh moroccan bread and olive oil to the delicate souffle starter, to the sublime fish and finally to the wonderful creme brulee and chocolate mousse... was pleasantly surprised also by the Moroccan Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented very nicely. Have eaten in many Michelin... More

Fantastic food and ambiance. The riad (we stayed here too) is beyond beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. Stay in the Yasmina suite, you will not want to leave the room!

We stayed at the Riad during out trip to Fez and ended up eating dinner there two of the three nights. They food was wonderful and so thoughtfully prepared. Even if you are not a guest of the Riad, go for dinner, you won't regret it! Also note, Dar Roumana will send someone to fetch you if you are not... More

We only visited for a dinner. Very nice and well prepared food. We really enjoyed. We asked for to see one of the rooms. Just beautiful! So nicely decorated. The interior is the most tasteful I have seen so far in Marocko. Will definately stay here if I come back to Fés. Highly recommend!

Well, actually my favorite meal was the one we prepared at the cooking school outside of Marrakech. However, by the time we got here and it was our last night, I was quite tired of tagines and couscous and all the rest of that traditional Moroccan cuisine. Very much a French influence and an exceptional meal, beautifully prepared and presented.... More
