An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. Reservations essential.

Dar Roumana is set in a spectacular riad but there is no air conditioning in the summer, just fans, so that might take away from your enjoyment of the generally good food. They will send a guide to your hotel to take you to the restaurant; we did not know that, and so had to rely on friendly boys (seeking... More

A guide came to collect us from the hotel to take us to this dinner ,thankfully. French chef in residence that made great meals with local products, very Mediterranean or French style food. Great space and service. Around 35 Euro pp sans wine.

We really loved the intimate setting and we all found dishes we liked from the menu even though it is limited. Nice to be able to also take a break from the traditional tagine dishes. Enjoyed the fish preparation.

I came here on my last night of a wonderful holiday, the food was absolutely delicious, the room we ate in was stunning and the service was top notch. They advised us on where to take our taxi, picked us up and walked us to the restaurant, then walked us back at the end of the evening and waited until... More

Wow! The restaurant is stunning and so is the food. We learned about the restaurant from another couple we met before we went to Fez. The food was excellent. It was so good, that my husband and I ate there two nights in a row. It is an intimate place with only five tables. It is in the courtyard of... More

I think the title of this review says it all. We had an absolutely great evening at this gorgeous restaurant set in a beautiful riad in the Fes medina. The service was excellent, the food was scrumptious and beautifully presented, the prices for food and wine were very reasonable for the high quality of everything. Just another terrific part of... This restaurant is a true gem. The dining room is small, but that makes it more intimate. The menu is limited as well as there are only four appetizers, four main courses and four deserts. So, two of us were able to sample almost half of the menu and cannot find one thing that was imperfect. For starters we had... More

Dar Roumana is definitely a good place to go for dinner (people who are not : - Decoration is really elegant, in a typical Moroccan Riad - There are enough choices of dishes on the menu (4 first courses, 4 second courses and 4 desserts) - Dishes are thought through, it is not what you can find everywhere and it... This is quite a small restaurant, only about 8 tables, in a very 'big' setting. The centre-piece is the courtyard of a restored traditional Riad; tiles and carvings as high as the neck will crane. It really comes into its own after dark when the glow of candles really adds to the atmosphere. The menu is really pure French rather... More
