An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. When you're tired of the same old Moroccan food, come to Dar Roumana

We had been in Morocco for about a week before we dined at Dar Roumana at the suggestion of our travel planner. We weren't sure we wanted anything fancy, but glad we trusted her advice. The restaurant is in the courtyard of this beautiful Dar, and the overall setting was subtle yet elegant. It's a... read more

We were in Fes with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday and wanted something a bit more special than yet another tagine. He'd done the research online and we'd booked a table at Dar Roumana - and we had the perfect birthday evening. There are only five tables and we were fortunate enough to have the whole place to ourselves... More

Been here for dinner on our first night in Fes. The restaurant is very elegant and they have a person which comes and gest you through the small roads of the Medina. The restaurant is quite difficult to find, so it is worth reserving a table and having their guide bring you there. The same guide will then bring you... More

After reading about Dar Roumana during my pre-travel research, we decided to make reservations and see what all of the buzz was about. Our tour guide highly recommended the restaurant and called ahead for us to book reservations. The food was as anticipated and the subtle flavors and presentation really appealed to us. The soft jazz playing in the background... More

We had the good fortune of staying at Dar Roumana for 5 nights in October. And, the equally good fortune of having dinner there twice. OUTSTANDING, creative, --- words cannot describe how well this chef cooks...thank you Vincent. Wish we had dined with you all 5 nights! Make a reservation well in advance. Also noteworthy, our daily breakfasts. Bravo.

We drove in from the desert, and couldn't imagine a better place for rest and relaxation and some of the best food we've ever had. Vanessa was extremely professional and warm over our email conversations setting up the trip and some of our daytime itinerary outside the hotel. The rooms were spacious and traditional, with huge bathroom and full amenities.... More

After a long drive from Merzouga, we settled into the blissful surroundings and were delighted to hear that Vincent was in the house. We were celebrating a friends birthday, and I doubt it could have been much more memorable nor elegant than Dar Roumana. Vincent's cooking is indeed a treat that you should not deprive yourself when in Morocco, let... More

we were so tired when we arrived at Dar Roumana riad that we decided to have dinner there. We could not have made a better decision. Fabulous food and a wonderful, helpful staff. Don't just eat here: stay here as well! They have a well-informed and friendly, helpful staff. Our hat is off the Frederica in particular.

This is proper treat-yourself food expertly produced by Vincent and his team. I had octopus cooked beautifully followed by succulent lamb and a delicious desert. The food was not only cooked perfectly but also beautifully presented with real care taken over the whole gastronomic experience. We were lucky enough to meet Vincent who popped down into the restaurant during our... More
