Description: Rick's Cafe Casablanca is a restaurant, bar and cafe located in the city...
Rick's Cafe Casablanca is a restaurant, bar and cafe located in the city of Casablanca, Morocco. Opened March 1, 2004, the place was designed to recreate the bar made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the movie classic Casablanca. Set in an old courtyard-style mansion built against the walls of the Old Medina of Casablanca, the restaurant - piano bar is filled with architectural and decorative details reminiscent of the film: curved arches, a sculpted bar, balconies, balustrades as well as beaded and stencilled brass lighting and plants that cast luminous shadows on white walls. There is an authentic 1930's Pleyel piano and As Time Goes By is a common request to the in-house pianist

A very pleasant surprise!

I went to Rick's with a certain amount of trepidation, fearing it would be really lame and touristy. How wrong I was! The food, service, decor and music were outstanding. Despite my initial misgivings, it turned out to be one of my best meals in Morocco. Highly recommended!

What a delightful place. I had four nights in Casablanca and I spent each one at Rick’s. Always at the bar. But once for dinner as well: The medium rare filet mignon was perfect. And was accompanied on the plate with a delightful mushroom stuffed with garlic and cheese, as well as a crisp green salad and scalloped potatoes. But... More

Stopped for a bottle of wine and appetizer. Worth a visit. Very nicely done. Was disappointed when I went to leave and asked the maitre d for directions to my next destination. He told me I needed a cab, then set us up with one. The cab is in cahoots with the restaurant and will not run the meter --... More

We went for lunch because I just HAD to go. Of course, the movie wasn't made in Casablanca and this restaurant didn't exist even 10 years ago, but it is a fun place to "relive" the Casablanca feeling. We sat at the bar and had a burger which was expensive, but worth it for the fun factor. Not sure it... More

The movie Casablanca is one of my favourite and therefore I had to visit this place. I realy felt like I am in the movie. It is nicely decorated,so when you are in Casablanca you must visit this place. We had lunch, it was nice.

Very good restaurant with splendid service and a video in the bar with the film "Casablanca". Not the real place but something that reminds you of the real place (which was situated in Hollywood). Splendid place for those who remember the old film

Even though "Casablanca" was filmed in Hollywood, Rick's Café does an amazing job of recreating the atmosphere of the film, with excellent staff, a beautiful bar and of course a piano. As I was travelling solo, I only visited for a drink or two, but it was definitely worth the visit. The bar staff were fantastic and let me practice... More

Why wouldn't you visit the cafe where Casablanca was filmed? They have authentic drinks and superior service. It is even owned by an American woman who loved its charm and kept it original.

Although there never was such a place as "Rick's Cafe" in Casablanca when the movie was made, we still wanted to go and see this place and were totally ready to believe that Ingrid Bergman might waltz in any minute or Humphrey Bogart would pour himself a glass of bourbon at the bar right next to you. And although this... More
