Ever had a Bob's Hot Dog? If not you are in for a great treat! Then there are the Tavern's (loose meat sandwich). Hard to pick sometimes.

Just wanted a quick hot dog. Must have waited 30 minutes for 2 hot dogs and french fries. Young man who brought out the orders had a nasty attitude and slammed everyone's tray down on the table. Place is joke!

If you're looking for a hot dot or tavern at a reasonable price then Bob's is the place to go. Great location overlooking West Lake Okoboji with outdoor seating and a meal for less than $5, what's not to like?

Their hot dogs are amazing and the taverns are great to try also. Living in Des Moines, I make sure i stop by Bob's everytime I'm in Okoboji. Service can be slow when it is busy but it is worth the wait.

Such a funny name for a loose meat sandwich, a tavern. This place has them, and fried pork sandwiches, too. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and cheese balls with Ranch dressing. Yum!

We arrived just before closing and received prompt and friendly service. We had the staple diet for the area, a Hot Dog and a Beer. The "dog" was great and the Beer was icy cold. It was still 95 degrees in the shade. The view from Bob's is spectacular, and is well worth the walk through town to get there.... More

This small summer-only diner is excellent. I always get the Tavern which is an old-fashioned loose meat sandwich. Whatever spices they use are perfect - it is moist but not greasy. I've heard they have good hot dogs but I can't resist the Tavern. There is also a location in LeMars Iowa that is open year round.

How long does it really take to cook a hot dog? Service by high school age kids that would rather be with their friends on the lake.

Bob's specializes in burgers and dogs - it's a satellite restaurant from it's home base of the small town of LeMars. There are a few tables indoors and a few picnic tables outside - or you can take your food and eat on the grass under a tree. Except for indoors, it has a great view of West Lake Okoboji... More
