One of Okoboji's finest restaurants. Ben going there for years and I do think that this year is by far the best food we have ever had there. Chose it to celebrate my wife's son becoming a Dr. in dentistry.

Run by Louis and Julie for approximately 100 days of the summer lake season, this lake view eatery and watering hole is the best there is on Lake Okoboji. Gourmet food at reasonable prices is a great meeting spot for locals and tourists alike. Food is always fresh and the wait staff, mainly students with summer jobs is very very... More

Family of four with two boys ages 13 and 10. We all love seafood and were not disappoiinted! The area is busy and somewhat noisy if you are seated on the patio but the view is worth it. And yes, you can absolutely order from the regular menu if seated on the patio, just ask! Service was great, our son... More

We were in town for the Victory celebration and they were very, very busy. They let us in even though we did not have reservations. We ordered Rib Eye and Prime Rib dinners and they were excellent. The calamari appetizer was excellent. Our salads were excellent. It was one of the best meals we have had in a long time.... More

We haven't tried Maxwells in several years because our children were young, and we felt that spending the money to eat there probably wasn't worth it. This year, we tried it again with our teenage children and loved every minute of it. We chose to eat inside, which tends to be more upscale than the outside patio dining. From the... More

The food is tasty and the service is good . The kids' menu is nice and varied. The service is friendly and prompt. The restaurant is well located on the waterfront , near the amusement park and tour boats. It is a lively place and the restaurant fits in well. It is a good option for lunch ( and dinner)

We had great service, but the food was average. My daughter ordered the mac-n-cheese, which was the best meal in our family of 4. If you sit on the patio, there is a limited menu. We felt totally comfortable in swimsuits & cover-ups. You can't beat the view & people watching and the service was great.

My wife and I enjoyed our meals so much we went back the very next night. We ordered different things on the menu and tasted each others. All 4 meals were very good. We will be back again.

A very terrible experience with a cold $35 steak with reheating it after the waiter confirmed it was cold by putting his finger on it. Then I went to the owner and he thought that was acceptable. What a disgrace. Rather eat at a fast food joint than here again Poor excuse for customer service Don't know what else they... More

We at dinner at Maxwell's with our extended family -- my wife & I, my daughter and son-in-law, and my two grandchildren. We ate on the patio, and all of us had lighter fare -- sandwiches, etc. Everything was great. The food was really good; much better than I had expected in a high-traffic tourist area, and the service was... More
