Gave me a break from the Kitchen

My husband wanted to give me a break from cooking and took me to the Village just down the street from our home. We were greeted (well kind of) by the hostess and taken to a table in an almost empty restaurant at 10 AM. Our waitress (who's uniform could have used some Spray N Wash) was friendly... read more

I've lived in Ankeny for over two years and I finally made it to Village Inn. Breakfast is great any time of the day and their breakfast choices are amazing. Great service, great prices and of course free pie Wednesday is always a winner. Will be on my list to frequent more often.

We stopped by this Village Inn well past lunch rush on a Sunday - we hadn't been for several years and thought we'd try it. The restaurant wasn't even half full but we had to wait 10-15 minutes to get seated. After ordering, it took more than 30 minutes for us to receive a very simple breakfast order. When I... More

The pies were pure heaven. The rest of the menu items looked as good as they sounded, We'll go back for sure.

Not the best food in the world, but overall a decent breakfast. I'd return. Great for families. The kids meals are very well priced.

The food was really good at Village Inn. The service could have been faster but the food more than made up for it. The staff was friendly.

Our meal was decent, as was the service. We had a birthday in our party and they brought over a free piece of pie, despite being told that they don't do that anymore, so that was very nice. My Tomato Basil soup was delicious, but my smothered chicken and potato pancakes were very bland. The Hawaiian Strawberry pie is a... More

We actually have been to this place twice, and both times the food was excellent, and the serving sizes were perfect. We typically split a meal and we had lunch there on Mothers Day weekend, it was great! The cinnamon rolls are delicious just like everything else we had there.

I have found the service to be somewhat spotty, but always forgive them because the food is so good.

We stopped at this Village Inn while traveling through the area. Not really knowing anything about the restaurant, but trusting the chain name, we decided to give it a try. Our experience was, in a word, average. We had a party of six, and were seated within a few minutes, something that is nice. Our server was extremely friendly and... More
