Tonight they served us bacon jam. No, really. Bacon jam. With Brie and prosciutto and candied walnuts. I can't really use words to explain what these chefs have done. They are true believers. We had a great meal and great service. Can't wait to return. I loved the setting and the bakery is wonderful!

Arrived for brunch on a Saturday around 1045. Had a 25 minute wait estimate which was spot on. Took drink orders when seated then was at least 10 minutes before wait staff came back. Orange juice was fresh squeezed and excellent. I had two eggs over easy, potatoes, toast and sausage. Potatoes were a bit burnt on outside but not... More

The menu changes frequently-using fresh local ingredients. You have to arrive early or be prepared to wait (and the location for waiting isn't the best) We love it.

My husband I came across this restaurant by reading reviews. Very cute place. The pastries were awesome. We went on a Saturday morning. The place was packed. My husband had a traditional breakfast of a spinach mushroom omelet. But mine was not what I expected. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. It had an arugula salad with it. Very bitter.... More

This place after several times going just does not have what it takes. Limited , quirky menus and you always wait in line with no place to sit. Great service and comfortable atmosphere but needs more competition so the lines were normal.

I heard this was "the place" to go in Ames. We went early and sat in the bar. The bartender recommended the fried broccoli...which I was very skeptical. Woozy. It was amazing. Served with a pickled pepper mayo, the fire grilled broccoli was the best appetizer I have ever had. We then ate the Cafe Mac and Cheese - which... More

Had a couple of diners here with customers and colleagues and it was an ok experience overall. The service staff is very young and not too experienced. What I mean is that they had a constant sense of hurry for some reason; main courses jumped on the table before we finished our starters (which are large and generally good/excellent by... More

I've never had a bad cocktail or a bad meal at this restaurant. From fresh farm to table ingredient omelets to unique dinner entrees that are always changing and evolving this restaurant does it right. They change the menu often and have wonderful features and do a great job of combining unique flavors and making it all work. Their bakery... More

If you're here in the early morning or after the noontime and dinner rush it's OK. They do change up menu and that's good. Some highlights. Short ribs, omelettes, great bakery. Low lights? Smelling great smoke outside from smoker they run, then trying to find food that has that smokiness. Huh???
