There is one thing certain.. You will never find this meeting place if you look for a sign, no blinking lights, not a letter anywhere.. but that's remarkable.. its been that way over 15 years.. The menu is dependable.. rarely changes.. there is a good mixture of customers, old, young, middle aged.. Stomping Grounds is in Campustown, on Welch Ave,... More

tried the egg curry sandwich, average taste. Small portions. Nice atmosphere, good place to do coffee and chat.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Ames, especially during the summer when we can sit on the patio. It is always busy, even when the students are not on campus. There are usually many choices for coffee, which is brewed by the cup. The menu has not changed in the years we've been eating there, but... More

Terrible Service! I went there with my roommates at 7 o'clock and were seated outside. We ordered our drinks, but it took over 15 mins to bring out two waters and two ice teas. By 7:30 no one had asked to take our orders and we still had our menus so we asked multiple waiters/waitresses if they would take our... More

Our first trip to Ames to tour ISU for my son. After a lovely but long day on Campus, we asked one of our guides their favorite place to eat off campus and there we were! We had tasty tea from the extensive menu, fabulous bruschetta, and yummy sandwiches. The service was friendly and efficient and it was a lovely... More

Great location for coffee and a light breakfast. I have been here often and always enjoy the outside dining area. The menu is limited but everything is good. The service is good. The restroom is around the corner in the building hallway and the parking is on the street so if they are busy you may have to walk a... More

I visited Stomping Grounds on a Friday afternoon to enjoy the live music, tasty food and some wine on a beautiful evening. The atmosphere is lively and the wine is delicious. The music was a little intrusive at times but the it is to be expected. We enjoyed a few appetizers; bruschetta, olive tapenade and a cheese plate. To top... More
