New location...Excellant!

I LOVE the new location..a quiet table in the back is best. The food was even better than the old location. Service was really good. TRY the tenderloin and either the salad with white wine vinegarette or the tomato vinegarette...WONDERFUL!

Very modern restaurant and bar in a new building and new location with a sports theme centered on the Iowa State Cyclones. I visited it on a Saturday eve and there were families with young kids as well as couples in their later years. The menu may not be huge but there are plenty of good items to choose from.... More

We loved the new Wallaby's in Somerset. The decor and atmosphere is great and they have the same great food. We were seated in a room with two tables, two booths and a fireplace which made for a very relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to the roof top patio bar this summer.

Well-done on the new location decor and the space, although the parking situation is terrible. Service for lunch was too slow for it being the official lunch hour. Unfortunately, what used to be a solid place in the old location is terrible at present. My wife had a side-salad with four whole pieces of uncut lettuce and few extra garnish.... More

I've been to the new Wallaby's a few times already. Everything on the "Creole" menu is great, but the shrimp-and-grits left me still hungry, which was disappointing at $14 (one of the highest-priced menu items). I think that the portions are generally small for the price, but I know the ingredients, sauces and whatnot are always made fresh and they... More

The smaller room sized areas greatly cut down on the noise you might expect from a really busy restaurant. Food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Love the new building in a totally new area.

Food tasted great and service was great as well. Prices were average. Plenty of TV's to watch games. Mood style lighting. Only downside was the parking, but still worth it.

Great location. Horrible parking. Long wait. The food was better (and much better priced) at the old Wallaby's. I would call this renewal a whiff so far. The management better improve the food and lower the prices, or they won't last long. Basic college fare for a very large price.

Pros Fast, average service Unfortunate Cons Menu seems to indicate food is upscale but the food we had was average to poor. Prices were large city but the quality was, at best, half of the list price compared to anywhere else in town. Availability to a TV screen was poor, yet the noise level was very high. The decor is... New restaurant in north Ames and came highly recommended. The decor of the restaurant is very sports minded as there are TV's and memorabilia everywhere. Yet the style of the restaurant seems to be more formal with small, separate dining rooms with fireplaces and expensive flooring and wall treatments. All in all confusing with what the place is trying to... More
