Good Vietnamese food

I was here 12Sep2015 and had garlic shrimp. While it wasn't as garlicky as I'm used to, it was good. Friendly waitress. Hot fresh tasty food. Marcydiner tantrum scale of 5/5-no screaming kids.

We always stopped to eat Le's amazing Vietnamese food when we were driving through Ames. It's been about three years since we were in, so we were surprised to see the menu with all Chinese dishes and all the lovely Vietnamese dishes gone. No more lemon grass chicken or pho. No more nuoc mam served alongside. The menu is in... More

Place was packed with Chinese students on a team buffet dinner when I went here. I was informed they were with the Chinese Hockey team. As that perspicacious commenter of our times Butthead would observe "Uh…..what?" More hard to believe word juxtapositions followed. Cold blended vegetables, cold blended pig ears, pork and duck blood tofu in spicy hot oil. Looking... More

This is your classic hole-in-wall type Chinese restaurant, although there's also a strong Vietnamese presence on the menu. The food has not been dumbed down for Americans, so check your food biases at the door and give it a try. I went with the spicy shrimp dinner. The shrimp were stir-fried with plenty of chili peppers, Szechwan peppercorns, garlic, and... More

I have been a couple of times with my husband and both times have been impressed. The food is delicious and comes in very large portions and it only cost about $7 - $10 a plate. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. And did I mention that you can get bubble tea there!

Since Ames is becoming more diverse, it is very exciting to have real Asian food. I'm very happy that Le's still has it's old menu and the new menu. A lot of people are very exciting to have a restaurant like this in Ames.

This establishment has changed hands and the entire menu has changed. It is now generic Chinese food, as depicted in the cheesy plastic picture menus on the walls outside. With items like "intestines with vegetables", I won't be back.

I came here with out of town family looking for good Asian cuisine. I was not disappointed. It was a group of 8 and they moved tables for us and got us seated right away. The waitress was amazing. She actually talked with us and made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. I asked if there could be... More

It had been over 10 years and I went back to lees. I had the special chicken curry. I was warned that it would be spicy and it did not disappoint. The service was prompt friendly and the food was very good.
