When in Ames you can't miss a stop at Hickory Park. Always great food, excellent service and friendly staff. If you go once, you'll stop every time you have a chance.

I have been here twice in my visit to Ames, food is good, portions are generous and prices are cheap. Worth noting it is particularly 'meat-heavy' in its choices but they do make bean burgers which my vegetarian friends really enjoyed!! The saucy southerner comes recommended by many as does the restaurant in general.
