I have traveled many places through Central and Eastern United States and this definitely makes the top 5 places of best pizza.

Had lunch here on a weekday. Wow, was it good. I selected the pizza slice of the day which on this day was their original wheat crust. I prefer thin but I went with the slice. It was really, really good. Tons of cheese, plenty of topping and of course sauce. The crust was great. I found out after I... More

There is good reason GPS&D has been around forever... No one else makes pizza like this! This is the only pizza made that doesn't "extra" cheese. Try the buffalo on wheat and don't forget the honey... Once you go there you will understand what that means.

My brother used to eat a slice of pizza here every day for lunch! Lots of cheese and toppings. Efficient crew creating, baking, taking orders, serving and processing. I like the wheat crust - leave the "rings" and remember to put honey on it! This is what they are known for. Limited seating. Tired decor. Always a crowd but you... More

We order delivery from Great Plains, comes hot, tasty and we like the thin crust. our favorites are the Sausage and Mushroom or the Buffalo pizza, delicious! We rarely go there to eat.

Our 2 topping pizza had lots of delicious cheese. The thick white flour crust was chewy and tasty. Save the end crust for dessert with the honey provided:)

My son in law and myself went in for Pizza on Friday night. Fast order taking. Had the Thin wheat crust... Topping were generous,. Pizza was very good. Garlic Toast was very good. Loved the funky atmosphere. When they got to a point where the wait for pizza was going to be long they put a sign up for customers... More

Found Great Plains on the recommendation of several friends. We were not quite hungry enough for pizza for lunch so we ordered sandwiches. The bread for the sandwiches was excellent and the sandwich content was fresh (I had turkey with various fixings). We found a nice, quiet booth. By the time we left, the place was really filling up and... More

Traveled to Ames for a conference and wanted to check out local restaurants and no chains. This was recommended and it was very good. The Denver, wheat crust was recommended and was a fairly thick crust that is eaten last with honey. Plenty of sauce and toppings. The restaurant itself is very small, a little dark and I could have... More

Came here from out of town after an ISU game. Came from out of town and went on friends recommendation. Was good pizza. Sauce was on the bland side but the crust was good. Cooked to a good crispy bottom. Get the Denver style crust which is their specialty.
