This place is always packed when we go by during lunch and dinner hours. I will say the food is very good. They serve food family style and also just by the plate. Family style is refillable bowls of 2 chilled salads, steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, meats, sauerkraut and either 2 or 3 meats all brought to your table. There... More

If you’re in the Cedar Rapids area and love German food you definitely need to stop here. I have traveled to Munich Germany about thirteen times for business during these trips I have come to love German food. The Ox Yoke food is as good as anything I had while in Munich, I would say the only things I was... More

Great restaurant with very friendly service and a wide variety menu. Excellent smoked pork chops from the Amana Meet market and fantastic assortments of homemade deserts.

The waitress seemed to be in a hurry to serve us. The food was ok. I was disappointed with the desserts not much selection. Would have liked a fruit pie.

I'm not sure how they modeled their "German" restaurant, yet it was NOTHING like any German restaurant I've ever been to in the USA; and I come from a very strong German community; I also have German heritage. Anyway, their Jagerschnitzel was the thickest my husband has ever had, and he lived in Germany for 3 years. My Sauerbraten was... More

We ate here twice and enjoyed our meals. The food is good, filling and reasonably priced. The staff was attentive and made good suggestions about our food orders.

The first night my friends and I had delicious full German style meals. We had no complaints, and one of our group has lived in Germany and knows authentic German food. The second night we wanted to eat lighter fare so chose sides and appetizers. We were greatly disappointed in the German pancakes, dumplings, spaetzle with cheese, and German potato... More

In my opinion, this is one of the better restaurants in the Amanas. I miss some of the traditions that have slowly gone away at the restaurant, but they need to keep up with changes as well. Our experience was even more interesting because we took a German national there as our dinner guest. She got a kick out of... More

My Family ate here just last weekend. Most of the food is battered and fried.... We opted for something a little healthier, and when I asked if I could just get veggies instead of the pasta side I was told sorry no substitutions. I was pretty disappointed many restaurants now really try to serve their customer and accommodate any food... More
