My husband and I were here this past weekend during "Winterfest". We've been to Amana several times but usually not at the right time to stop and have a meal. We decided we were going to go hungry and make a point to stop at the restaurant. The decor is nothing to write home about. We were seated in the... More

the whole family went there this past weekend and I think we enjoyed it, except maybe for the person who had to pay. A little pricey. Very good food and plenty of it. Not fancy sauced up. Family style, I believe they called it.

Great family style restaurant in the beautiful Amana colonies. Lots of yummy side dishes with my chicken schnitzel. The service was great as was the food. The one thing I would say it was a little on the pricey side, but I suppose this is because the area is touristy. Would definately eat there again.

The food was amazing. I had the jagerschnitzel and my husband had the sauerbraten. They were both to die for! We opted to share our meal "family style" so we had unlimited refills of sides like fried potatoes and gravy, cottage cheese, sauerkraut, rye bread. They do get very busy so I suggest you make a reservation.

Food was good. We ordered the family style meal. The fried chicken they brought out and served to us was raw on the inside. This sort of ruined the experience for me.

We chose to dine here our first night in Amana. We stopped by in the afternoon to check the menu and were told we should make a reservation if we wanted to dine there that night. We did and to our surprise, there were only 2 other tables occupied in the 2 large dining rooms. We are not fans of... More

Did not live up to our expectations. Went for a Sunday brunch, and expected different than the normal brunch offerings, so we were disappointed. I will have to admit the dessert was very good. If I went there again I probably would order off the menu. A lot of people were ordering off the menu, and their meals looked good.... More

I liked the family style dining. Everything was hot. The dessert tray was incredible! I had asked for mashed potatoes and I was served mashed potatoes. The waitress did an awesome job at our table of 18 people.

Decent food. Nothing special. Good old fashioned American food. Expected more for the price. Eat breakfast there. Had a regular American breakfast of eggs, ham and potatoes. I was served a decent amount of food to fill me up, but not for the price. But you have to go there once at least, for the ambiance.

I've ate at many restaurants that serve food family style Daniel Boone Inn in Boone, NC and Der Dutchman in Ohio are a couple of my favorites. The food here just doesn't measure up in flavor or variety to the price charged when compared to other family style restaurants I've sampled. The food is ok as well as the service... More
