In my opinion, this is one of the better restaurants in the Amanas. I miss some of the traditions that have slowly gone away at the restaurant, but they need to keep up with changes as well. Our experience was even more interesting because we took a German national there as our dinner guest. She got a kick out of... More

My Family ate here just last weekend. Most of the food is battered and fried.... We opted for something a little healthier, and when I asked if I could just get veggies instead of the pasta side I was told sorry no substitutions. I was pretty disappointed many restaurants now really try to serve their customer and accommodate any food... More

This restaurant was touted as something wonderful. We found it to be very average. It was noisy and the service was very basic at best. We were expecting the food to be better prepared and tastier.

Do not go close to closing time. Food was almost cold, waitress was in a hurry clearing our plates away, didn't get asked nor did we get the chance to ask, for refills on our family style bowls, of which were very small bowls in the first place. A glass of white milk, around a 10/12oz size, was $2.50!!!!! A... More

I ate at this restaurant with a group of friends and we had great service and food. We only waited a couple of minutes for an available table and our food was served promptly. Our waiter was attentive and the food was satisfying.

This restaurant, like many in Amana is busy. It is comprised of several poorly decorated rooms strung together. The noise level was high. The wait staff are rude at best, harried at worst, practically running from place to place, and overlooking our requests for more water. The menu features German food. Having dined there before, I avoided the German entrees... More

Just spent a sunday in the Amana Colonies and started out at Ox Yoke Inn for the brunch. The food was delicious, (especially the BACON!) So much variety, so many salads, meats, pastries and the best hash browns ever! Didn't need to eat again that day! Although that may not be good for the bakery and fudge shop to hear!

The staff here as with everyone we met while visiting Amana are very friendly and anxious to relate the stories of their heritage. we thought the food was very tasty. I am a connoisseur of fried chicken and this was the best I have enjoyed in many a moon. My sister said her Rueben was the best she had ever... More

This was my second visit to the Ox Yoke Inn. The first time I went I did not order family style and missed out on the sides of bread and jam, chive cottage cheese, corn and potatoes. The food is good, not outstanding, but the atmosphere and going with a big group makes up for it.
