Good food and great service

We have dined at Ronnenburg several times over the years and decided to come home from Cedar Rapids via Highway 151 just so we could dine there on the way. The food is always good and the staff attentive. Usually on Sundays they serve mashed potatoes and fried potatoes are served during the week... read more

Ate here on Saturday evening and didn't have to wait long. we had our meals family style which included coleslaw, cottage cheese, fresh bread, corn, fried potatoes and gravy, kraut and pickled beets. Our party had the fried chicken, the ham and wiener schnitzel. Service was good and it was a nice evening. Will be back!

We went here for lunch on Valentine's Day, had a wonderful meal with lots of traditional German side dishes served family style. A very quiet setting that is not rushed, and the staff are very attentive and let you enjoy your meal. Very reasonable prices! We will definitely go here again sometime!

Huge family style meals aren't my thing, but if they are yours then you're sure to love the Ronnenburg. I'm more a fan of their huge and delicious salad ($7-$8)! Their German Salad dressing is made from scratch right there in the restaurant and it's to die for. I could eat it by the tub. Nothing better than crisp lettuce,... More

Great place for family or couples to experience. Bring your appetite, as the meals for great, and you can get family style. For the average American, its a touch of German food, with great sides that keep coming all night long. Good selection of wines and beers,

Love the family style dining, whether you choose the fired chicken, the jager schnitzel, or any of the other greats on their menu, you can enjoy all the sides together ... as much as you want and believe me, you will want more fried potatoes & gravy!

We had a lovely lunch of sauerbraten and jagerschnitzel with tasty sides of cole slaw, fried potatoes, creamy green beans, and some kraut. Local Millstream beer on tap makes for a nearly perfect meal. We were in Germany during the summer so this wasn't quite as good as our meals there but it is quite good.

The service was excellent, there was a wait on this busy December Saturday, but they were very accurate in their wait time and there are plenty of shops to visit close by. The food was amazing and plenty of it. We could not finish our lunch.

Hearty, plain German-American food and lots of it. --Just to clarify (and correct one of the reviewers). The Amanas are not Amish. The Amanas have a history of communal living (including mealtimes) which, after the communal life ended, made for a natural transition to running restaurants and serving large groups of people. The Amish are about 45-minutes away in Kalona.... More
