Awesome coney sauce.

I love their coney sauce i just wish that their hot dogs were meatier. The root beer is fantastic, and you can get it in a gallon jug to take home. I especially love that they sell the seasoning packets so you can make your own coney sauce at home.

What's not to like about a little place for cheap eats and some great homemade Root Beer. The floats are creamy; food is filling. Always good to go with the kids or just with your significant other.

Had a slaw dog on Sunday and all I can say is WOW, it was really full of horseradish! It was good, but unexpected!

Gene's has been a must-have spring and summer treat since my childhood. My son, daughter and I were in Anderson one afternoon this week and had to stop and get our Spanish dog fix. The flavor is unique. The fries were good and hot, and the onion rings were excellent. I would pass on the fried mushrooms. They were mushy.... More

Best old-fashioned car hop drive-in still in existence. Great food and broad menu of drive-in cuisine. Good old-fashioned frosted mug root beer. Summer seasonal operation. Parking is sometimes tight during the spring and summer seasons.

Everyone is always a buzz when Gene's opens every season. One more confirmation that summer is on its way! It's a cult favorite around here. I'm not much for chili dogs, but they are noted to have the best. I was a little upset when the refills on the mugs were 86'ed. I used to go more frequently for the... More

Get the Spanish dog. It is tasty. Since we are not from Anderson, we had friends recommend that we try it sometime. We have visited twice. The Spanish dog has a sauce and cheese on a hot dog. I also enjoy the fried mushrooms. Their root beer is food, but is a little on the "vanilla" side of flavor. It... More
