Upon entering the 1st ever roundhouse in the nation, we were enchanted with the restoration and the commitment to keep this facility maintained to share with the public...We are not beer drinkers but found the local offerings interesting. The food was another story. The menu is upscale with $35.00 steaks but our selections did not meet expectation. I ordered the... More

First of all - this place is HUGE. Entering from the Metra parking lot side, we weren't even sure where the dining room was....past two weddings, a reunion, a bar, the actual brewing area with its own point-of-sale for coffee and brewskies (bakery items, too). Finally, we come round to the "main" entrance, a hostess station, and the pager system... More

Interesting building/decor. Much of the food is house made and they focus on local and small vendors to provide their ingredients (e.g. no Grand Marnier for margarita, substituted a local ginger liquor recommended by server). It was packed on a Tuesday evening and service was slow. Pretzel with housemade cheese sauce was outstanding. There are vegetarian friendly choices. The outdoor... More

We've been here three times over several years, and the beer is always great but the food is completely forgettable. The historic setting is very interesting, it has an interesting menu -- but the food is just not very good. Of course, you go there for the beer but, gee whiz, the food needs to be as good as the... I took our three kids here mainly to get out of the sun and we were all pleasantly surprised. I had the fish tacos which were great. One son enjoyed chili while another had enchiladas. My daughter ate the Mac and cheese. Service was super-friendly.

Staying in town for our trip to Chicago. Was told this place was the place to go. Went the first night we got into town for beers and some music. Ordered 1 round of beers, all different, and all of our glasses tasted like they had been washed in mop water. Ordered a pretzel and beer cheese dipping sauce, pretzel... More

Stopped here for lunch today and had THE BEST ever short rib sandwich and fries. Melt in your mouth spectacular! I'm picky about my fries and the fries were also simply stellar! Now...for Bier...I love bier that is high in HOPS. Two Bros. has a brew called "Night Cat" that is awesome and typically (apparently) is so OMG Good that... More

Just had a family member's 60th birthday party here, after receiving such excellent accommodations for a last-minute, no-notice Christmas Eve dinner for a large group last year (2014, forgot to write a review then) and was impressed again!! This place is amazing!! There is so much room to breathe and spread out, and everywhere you look, you see something interesting!!... More
