Fantastic food and service. Loved the Salsa! They have the "traditional" Mexican entrees but also offer nice specials (I had the short rib special which was excellent) and regular dishes that aren't so typical of a Mexican place. Highly recommended!

Very lively atmosphere - deafening even. The food is acceptable and the wait staff always attentive but with the great number & variety of truly good Mexican restaurants in the area it's not necessary to endure the blasting music & too loud conversations. We tried to like it but we won't be back.

We have been here a number of times and it's a lively place on the weekends. There seems to be a lot of groups in here enjoying the place. The have some very good salsa and every entrée that I have ordered has been very good including a number of latin-inspired shrimp dishes. There is a preoccupation with mashed potatoes... More

The food is delicious but is over rated. This place use to be the best in town. Now they are established and over priced. On my last visit the waiter pushed the premium liquors without mentioning the price and also charged us for the "birthday" extras without telling us that there would be a charge. The extra charges were acceptable... More

Salsa 17 offers excellent food that is interesting and delicious. They pride themselves on the selections of complex salsas that are used in the various offerings. A city above most suburban places.

This establishment used to be so good say... 7 years ago. It has progressively gone downhill. The menu changes were not for the better. Watered down American Mexican food with refried beans and rice to fill the plate. Moving guacamole stand is good- but how wrong can you get that? With so many Mexican immigrants living in and around Chicago,... More

I was very pleased here when I stopped in for a drink and chips and salsa. The bartender knew his beers and found out we were from Portland and was excited to come out here and find some good small micro brew companies. Anyway we decided to go back the next night just because the salsa was so good. I... More

Wow! The food here is amazing - real Mexican. The moles are fantastic, and the tableside guacamole is terrific.

Tremendous Mexican restaurant. Absolutely order the guacamole dip tableside (and I don't normally eat avocadoes).
