Our first time trying a tapas meal

This place has always been very busy. We frequently dined at a favorite Mexican restaurant in the same area and walked by this place and it looked interesting so we finally got around to trying it. Make no mistake: this is much more Spanish style food and not so much Latin or Mexican. The tuna... read more

Little plates big $. It smells strange in there too. Nice atmosphere but not for us. It seems weird that the curtains shield the view from the outside even though the business in on a busy corner. Hiding something?

We've eaten her twice. The first time we were with another couple and shared tapas. Tonight we were in I town for theater and just ordered entrees. Ew had salmon and beef tenderloin. Both dishes were well prepared and tasty. I was a bit disappointed that our meals came to us separately. Also the mixed drink was not especially good.... More

If you have a party of 2, go between 6:30 and 7 and you will be seated immediately. Atmosphere is great for Saturday evening casual dining. The tapas were outstanding with pork, squid, stuffed mushrooms taking center stage. The grilled calimari was also so tasty and tender only a fork was necessary. The pork tapas were so flavorful that hubby... More

Great restaurant for some Spanish tapas. Loved the papas bravas, dates, and goat cheese dip. The seafood was just ok and a little fishy. We enjoyed the sangria, atmosphere, and proximity to many other bars and restaurants. If you like tapas, definitely worth a visit.

I was happy to sit at the bar here and socialize with the bartender. I'm sure I would go back again as it was a great atmosphere, but I feel it could've been a bit better with lower prices. It's definitely a place to check out, but it wouldn't be a regular on my list. That being said, the thought... More

I ate here last night with my partner and our expectations were too high. We were hoping for some authentic tasting Spanish Tapas but the food was bland and disappointing. We ordered Patas Alioli - this wasn't like the traditional dish we have enjoyed in Spain, it was more like a potato salad; Spanish Omlette - the potato to egg... More

3 stars for friendly service, location, and selection of food. No, the taste does not get any stars, sorry. It is just ok, not enough to make me go back... Plus the tapas items cost an average of about $9, totally overpriced I think. This is located in 'downtown' Arlington Hts around other restaurants, across from the Metra station, among... More

Having been to authentic tapas restaurants and cafes in Spain, I had hoped that La Tasca might be a bit better than it was. It is located in an area where there are a large number of restaurants to choose from, so I would think that it is important to keep their game at a top level. There is plenty... More

My wife & I went there a while ago, The server was nice, when they came around. Maybe because we came early dinner. With all the places in this area. We'll go another place.
