Real good Korean food

The place is almost always busy during weekdays and weekends. So consider making reservations ahead. Food to must try are the Rice Cakes, Dumplings and the Buns (pork belly and chicken). We visited the place twice to have lunch in last few months. They serve Korean food but not in the traditional way, but depending on your taste this may just work fine. I am not sure how often their special menu changes; both times I was there the braised short ribs with Kimchi stew was on the board. I tried... More

We love Ttowa (Korean restaurant). It was recommended to me and my husband when it opened, but it took us nearly a year to go there. The restaurant is not fancy and there is no real theme to the décor. But the staff is warm and friendly, the service is attentive, and the food is delicious. It is difficult to... More

I can not rave enough about this restaurant. If you have been to one of those mediocre Korean BBQ restaurants, forget everything you know about Korean cuisine. The food at Ttowa is amazing and the service is extremely warm and friendly. The owner manages the floor and loves people. He is great at making menu recommendations and engaging guests.

This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant with friends. The owners are nice people and they take pride in their establishment. However, I have been eating Korean food for close to 20 years. I used to work for a Korean boss who took us out to eat many times. While the quality of the food is good here, it... More

I just recently discovered this restaurant which is almost on my doorstep. The restaurant was reviewed on Check Please in October, to much enthusiasm from all participants. My first piece of advice is to tell the server what you like (spicy, medium, mild), and that you are a novice or seasoned eater of Korean food, and if you are a... More

This was my first Korean restaurant experience, and a very nice one it was. The day was unseasonably cold and immediately upon seating a cup of tea was delivered to the table. Waitress was very helpful in navigating the menu. I particularly liked the Chicken bun and Spicy Chicken rice bowl. The seafood noodle soup was not to my taste,... More

This is the best Korean food in the Northwest suburbs. Great food and great service!!! Will be back again. A must try for everyone who likes different ethnic food. The Korean wings and the "taco chicken" were amazing for our meat eaters which includes a 7 & 8 year old. The veggie pots tickers were awesome too...gave us a free... More

Wow! What a great meal my family had at TTowa the day before Thanksgiving. My wife, adventurous10 year old twins and 81 year old mother decided to dine here after my mom saw it on a local food show and we were not disappointed. We started out our meal with two appetizers. One was their version of a duck or... More

My wife and I ate at TTowa on Thursday night with family. The food was very good and the service was great. We all split three appetizers and the entrees. It wasn't busy on Thursday night. We all enjoyed the meal. We will return.
