We usually take friends here...because it's such a gem of a place in the suburbs. The last couple we took here had been to many well known Mexican restaurants in Chicago, where they had waited months for a reservation, and thought this place was sooooo much better! The menu is extensive and always updated. Specials are always something to try.... More

Stopped by for dinner last week. Really enjoyed the table next to the window to people watch. The chips and salsa and soup very good. My husband had the Chimichanga. Half beef and half chicken. He liked the beef side but thought the chicken side was too spicy. My meal was very tasty and the spice was fine. Our waitress... More

Mago is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. I'm happy to report that after my first encounter, that wasn't very good, the last two times I've been have been much, much better. The food portions are huge, at least for lunch. Their tacos are great and the table-made guacamole is out of this world! They also give... More

The fish tacos are great. One gets to chose from three different fish or have one taco with each fish. Nice touch vs having only one type of fish which is typical of many restaurants. The fish is fresh and the tacos are very good. Also, one can decide the temperature of the guacamole and limit the salt which makes... More

2 stars goes to their tortilla soup and chips and salsa and location, . Thank you Groupon but no thanks. This is totally overpriced and over sauced. Again, I'm an authentic Mexican food girl so I give very hard reviews to Mexican restaurants who just can't get it right... to me. I'm sure this place is great to some but... More

Mago has wonderful Mexican food. However it's their Mole that sets them apart. They have 6 or 7 Moles on the menu, as well as a mole special each month. they run from sweet to potent. I have eaten here many times, and can't get enough of it. their Chile Relleno's are amazing, as is their special Tamale's. If you... More

We have eaten at the location in S. Barrington. While this location is a bit smaller, the good U.S. Just as good. We started with fresh made Guacamole. Seasoned just perfectly for my wife. The entrees come with soup, and it was excellent. For entrees my wife had the Cheese Quesadillas and I had three Tacos (2 Chorizo and 1... More

Mago is by far our favorite Mexican place! The atmosphere is great, service is usually good, and the food is amazing! Our favorite is the Mago style fajitas. It comes in a stone pot and is bubbling in a delicious red sauce with cheese on top. Also, they bring you 3 salsas when you arrive and they are all soooo... More
