Great box of chicken

i'm 51 I've been going to Woody's chicken since I was five years old. It's great box of chicken and fries and you love the slaw. A staple in the Alton community.

We go here about two or three times a month. The food is always good, fast and we have never had a problem with them getting the order correct. I usually get the fish. I know that sounds crazy getting fish at a place that mostly serves chicken, but it's very good. I also like the Philly Cheese Steak, My... More

The food is top-notch and the prices are great, but they love to "forget" things you order. Every single time we go there, they leave at least one thing out. Turnovers, cole slaw, a piece of chicken or two, a bag of fries, something has to be missing. It's literally infuriating, and it is making me reconsider buying food from... More

I grew up in Alton going to Woody's and couldn't wait to take my family there on a return visit. The chicken is the reason to go, hands down the best ever. The batter coating is amazing. My 13 year old daughter who rarely eats meat could not get enough of it! Delicious and a great value!

On my home I went by and got myself a fried chicken dinner in a box. The chicken is excellent and the fries are great also. I try to get by there on way home.

We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. My wife has talked about this chicken for years and we finally made it to Alton and she insisted we stop. I pointed out all the other places to eat in the area but she said no we are going to Woodys for chicken. Still when we pulled in the parking lot... More

You walk into Woody's and you know this isn't some corporate run joint. Known for their fried chicken, their cheeseburgers can't be beat. Where else can you get half a chicken and fries for under five dollars?

this is a tradition in Alton actually I dont think its open anymore. They had the best buttery fried chicken I have ever tasted. You wouldnt want to eat there everyday but once in a while and you would be hooked. That is if they are still open and if they are not its a shame.
