Best Bakery

Duke Bakery has been around for several generations. Always was good, still is good. It's a don't miss stop if you are in town visiting. Take some yummy baked goods back to your hotel!

This place was born when I was. Use to get donuts there in the 50s and 60s on Sundays after church. Alton / Godfrey is low on donut shops and backerries. This place is OK, try the breads, an Alton staple. They supply some of the restaurants. But if you like really good european type of bread..forget it. THIS IS... More

Historical bakery with a long history of serving the community. Plenty of doughnuts in the morning while I struck out looking for croissants.

If you are looking for a great bakery with awesome goods, Duke's is the place to go. It is a family owned business that has been around for years and years and years. You can walk in and pick something from the cases or call ahead and order something special. They always do a nice job and have a great... More

Duke Bakery has been a staple in town since I was a kid. I still have the chocolate, chocolate birthday cake for my birthday every year. I love all of their cakes (fabulous carrot cake), pies, donuts, cookies (love the peanut butter and sugar) and pastries (amazing baklava and cream horns). Their sweets make any event special!!!

My family has been going to this bakery for years, everytime we are in the area, and it is always just great! The wonderful smells envelope you when you first walk in, which is one of the nicest things about this little shop! Every item we have ever gotten there has been great. I always buy extra breads for the... More

Duke's Bakery has been around FOREVER. They are the nicest people and have a great selection of any bakery goods you could want. We love their pies and donut holes and biscuits. Their prices are comparable to other bakeries. What makes them so special? The people who own and sell the goods. They are so personable. the owners are very... More

Haven't lived here for more that 35 years but always reminisced about the bakery goods from Dukes. Visiting this week, I talked my mom into stopping to pick up some items for a cookout. I bought 4 items, 1 cherry crumb pie, a package of ginger fruit cookies, a dozen confetti sugar cookies and 3 meringue cookies. Not one of... More

No matter how many times I have been to Duke's I always get hard, stale cookies. It doesn't matter if you ask which are the freshest, I think they only bake once a week. I have finally decided that I would rather make the drive to Collinsville to Kruta's where I have never been disappointed that to ever set foot... More

Living nearby we can walk here and get delicious donuts. The kids love to pick their own. The prices are good and everything I've tried was great.
