This is a long time venue in Alton, Illinois. A total mix of folks from persons celebrating their 21st birthdays to folks celebrating their 80th!! Something here for everyone! & that "something" is great cheap food - Big Elwoods (steak on a stick), pork kabobs, burgers, fries, and the coldest beer ever!! Live music evenings. Nothing fancy at all, but... More

On August 11th, 2014, while entertaining family from Los Angeles, we decided to go to Fast Eddies because we (my immediate family) always speak highly of Fast Eddies and we go there at least 3 times a month. This evening proved to be a bad choice for me at Fast Eddies because as soon as I entered F E, I... More

Good food. Very inexpensive. Great atmosphere. Just a little slow and the staff not real friendly. Not rude, but not friendly either. Liked the fact that there was live entertainment.

Went with my in-laws, wife and 21 year old son on Sunday (7/27/14). You must be 21 to enter. Food was decent and inexpensive. Live music was terrific. Kind of strange sitting in the semi-enclosed area with all the people smoking and even seeing a cigarette vending machine. Crowd is very diverse and makes for interesting people watching. Sad to... We stopped here for lunch on our way to St. Louis, mainly because I had seen Alton Brown feature Fast Eddie's on one of his Roadtrip shows. We were not disappointed, but don't be confused...this is a bar that serves food, not a restaurant that serves drinks. We arrived right at opening time and waited in line to place our... More

The food is very reasonable. We each got their 1/2 pound hamburger & it was really big for only $1.99. The French fries were only $1 & their were a lot. We also got some shrimp for 29 cents each. They were not as big as I thought they would be. We sat outside & even as hot as it... More

Plan a stop if you are in the St. Louis Metro area. The experience is unique, and you must be prepared ahead of time or it will frustrate you. Order of events: Enter establishment, get in line to order food (simple choices, very cheap), pay for food (cash only), get ticket with number, find table (inside or out), give drink... More

Went there on a Sunday afternoon, just after 12 PM. Peel and eat shrimp (big ones) are .29 cents each, 1/3 lb. (might be 1/2 lb) are only $1.99. Coors light draft served in a 16 oz. cold glass is only $2.75. Brats, kebobs and fries too. No credit cards and you pay by cash each time (no running a... More

So this is a glorified bar to be honest. The drinks are priced relatively well and the food prices are very low. Our waitress was very pushy for us to order more alcohol. The we got the big Elwood, hot chick on a stick, a burger, and fries. The big Elwood was way better than the chicken. The fries were... More

Someone recommended this place as a must, and it has been featured on TV. So while recently in the St. Louis area, we drove across the river to check it out. It was a very large bar, somewhat chaotic. There is a limited menu, with reasonable prices. The beer was cold, as advertised. Cash only. There was a mix of... More
