Nice place with some character

We had a large group with their buffet plan and were pleased with the service, food and price. Tables and chairs are getting a little shopworn but the ambience was good. Easy in and easy out which is what we needed on our timetable.

We were passing by on a business trip & the view drew us in for lunch. 4 stars for atmosphere. 2 stars for food. Great summer nautical themed restaurant on the river. Our waitress was very nice and they had a second person filling water glasses at all times so we never had to ask. My first negative remark will... More

Took our adult niece there last Sat night. DO NOT order the margaritas. Tastes like a powdered mix and watered down. Husband ordered the crab cakes, blue cheese and beef salad. Crab cakes were "awful" and salad was warm. Both dishes were terrible. On a positive note, the pizza appetizer was very good as were the vegetarian fried avocado tacos.... More

We docked our boat at Port Edwards during a beautiful evening for dinner. They allow dogs in the outdoor patio so we brought our Australian Shepherd. They gave her an ice cold bowl of water and a doggie biscuit. We ordered the Mai Tai special which really tasted like fruit punch and the T & T Shrimp which was a... More

A Father's Day brunch in a restaurant with a strong nautical theme, and with great views of the Fox River, I was hoping it would be at least four stars, but it wasn't for two big reasons. When you walk in, you can't help but notice the indoor koi pond with it own large sailboat. The decor has a lot... More

Friends recommended this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. It's not 5 star but we didn't expect that! The food was very good. It was a bit overpriced but the atmosphere made up for that! Great views of the Fox River. The decor is very cool and makes for a fun evening!

We experienced the Friday night seafood buffet at the Port Edward restaurant and were wowed by the selection and quality. If you go, be sure to notice the full-size boat floating in the pond, surrounded by beautiful fish: yes, a floating boat! We were seated overlooking the Fox River. What a great view! The buffet is amazing! Caviar, oysters, sushi,... More

Went to Port Edwards because we received a coupon for a birthday discount. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation and we did not so we were told there would be a wait. The restaurant was more than half empty but we stood there for 15 minutes (was the wait due to the lack of staff?)... More

The food here is just okay in our experience, not worth the prices but not a reason to stay away. But's it the only place in the Algonquin area to have dinner on the Fox River, and that makes it a worthwhile stop in itself.

Appetizers and first course came in a timely fashion but dinner didn't come until 45 minutes later. No explanation except that they were busy. Dinner came cold and not edible. Took it back and 2nd time thefood was warmer except for the main course (scallops). They comped my meal. Really disappointed.

Hi Cindy. We certainly extend our apologies for the delays that occurred on Saturday. The explanation that we were busy, although true, is not an excuse and we feel horrible for how the evening unfolded. We did have a culinary issue due to a prior scheduled event that caused the kitchen to fall behind. We also experienced a great influx... More
