Port Edwards presented us with something of a dilemma. We were looking for a seafood restaurant for a birthday dinner and Port Edwards seemed to fit the bill yet, the TripAdvisor reviews which often spoke of poor service and food quality would give anyone pause. We decided to take a chance. Located next to the Fox River with an expansive... More

The food is OK, but the entire ambience seems outdated. This used to be a go to "fancy" restaurant one would visit to really treat oneself or another. Now I sense it's days are numbered. Sad in a way, but it has, in my opinion, lost its elegance.

This restaurant is celebrating 51 years in business this year. That says something! I have heard about this place for many years but only recently had the chance to try it out. My family and I appreciate these types of restaurants that had a "theme", especially a nautical theme (Fishermen's Inn in Elburn was very similar.) In many ways, it... More

We had not been to this restaurant in many years. Wanting a place on the water to enjoy our 53rd anniversary, we chose this place based on location and reports of good food. We were very shocked to find the atmosphere dreary and run-down and in much need of renovation. I was a bit unsure of the cleanliness also. The... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review for us. We appreciate your honest feedback. We send our apologies for any perception of being "run down and dreary". The theme of Port Edward is a nautical, and more historical nautical at that. Ed Wolowiec, our founder, is a collector and most of the decor throughout the Port is antique... More

We had a large group with their buffet plan and were pleased with the service, food and price. Tables and chairs are getting a little shopworn but the ambience was good. Easy in and easy out which is what we needed on our timetable.

We were passing by on a business trip & the view drew us in for lunch. 4 stars for atmosphere. 2 stars for food. Great summer nautical themed restaurant on the river. Our waitress was very nice and they had a second person filling water glasses at all times so we never had to ask. My first negative remark will... More

Took our adult niece there last Sat night. DO NOT order the margaritas. Tastes like a powdered mix and watered down. Husband ordered the crab cakes, blue cheese and beef salad. Crab cakes were "awful" and salad was warm. Both dishes were terrible. On a positive note, the pizza appetizer was very good as were the vegetarian fried avocado tacos.... More

Thank you for your review. Your perspective and feedback are needed for us to evaluate areas in which we can improve and take corrective action. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our Margaritas. We make our Margaritas using Tequila, Sour Mix, Triple Sec, and Lime. Perhaps the bartender made an error when preparing your particular beverage,... More

We docked our boat at Port Edwards during a beautiful evening for dinner. They allow dogs in the outdoor patio so we brought our Australian Shepherd. They gave her an ice cold bowl of water and a doggie biscuit. We ordered the Mai Tai special which really tasted like fruit punch and the T & T Shrimp which was a... More

A Father's Day brunch in a restaurant with a strong nautical theme, and with great views of the Fox River, I was hoping it would be at least four stars, but it wasn't for two big reasons. When you walk in, you can't help but notice the indoor koi pond with it own large sailboat. The decor has a lot... More
