Our go to place on the weekends

We've dined here quite a bit and they have a good selection of foods for us and our 4 and 6 year old kids. Food is always spot-on and prices are very reasonable. I'm not sure why they don't put a restaurant on the signage because I didn't even know they offered food until after I walked in a... read more

We thought we try them for lunch. Menu looked great! The food not so good..... Ordered Ice Tea she said it was fresh brewed it tasted like it was a week old it was thick and cloudy. I told her i didn't like it if she could bring me water instead which she did but still charged us all for... More

Excellent selection of wine, beer and cocktails. They brew their own beer but always have a guest beer on tap. The waitress was very helpful and allowed me to try a few beers before I selected one. A sampling of beers is also a great option. You can also get a 6 oz draft instead of a pint. The high... More

Went for a Sunday night dinner with 8 friends. First visit for all of us, and probably my last. Patrons allowed 2 samplings each of wine and I chose red. Both were rather light weight, weak and showed "no legs" at all. I drank water with my dinner. With Cooper's Hawk having several locations, this is a tough market -... More

Had dinner there recently and my husband ordered the fish tacos. I had them before and they were somewhat spicy, but good. The tacos my husband was served were extremely hot and all you could taste was jalepeno. The waitress offered to have them re-made with the sriracha sauce and mango salsa on the side. I tried the mango salsa... More

The look of the restaurant is great with the oak barrels on the racks as soon as you enter the door. I tried three of the red wines and was pleasantly surprised as I am not typically a fan of Illinois wines, but these were defiantly an exception. The food on the other hand was average at best. The pizza... More

We were there for tastings and a light dinner on a Sunday. It is very cool since they have both a winery and brewery at the same location but in different buildings (which is required by law I understand). I had not heard much about this place and don't live too far away - it does not appear to be... More

Had dinner on Saturday with our son. Village Vintner is hard to find as it is set back far off of Randall Road just south of Algonquin Commons. We were seated promptly as they were not very busy at 5pm. Our server explained their in house brew specials along with their extensive wine listings. We tried Vintner's white Zinfandel. We... More

Having been to Napa and Sonoma and tasted some really fine wines (with my favorites being in the $15-$40 range), I have to say that this wine is not good. I tried a flight of red wines and they were all the same color, and none of them smelled great. Three wines were just ok (I'd give them a 4... More

We went for a beer sampler and a snack in the afternoon mid-week. The decor needs a bit more personality but the beer is fantastic. We tried a large sampling of their brews and admittedly enjoyed the majority of them. Most times, you get a sample of most everything a place has and you are lucky you find one or... More
