Great food. Don't ask for groceries. This is a fine dining restaurant. Excellent service and wonderful food. Don't miss the appetizer tuna tower. I don't think you can go wrong on any of the main menu choices either.

We told our traveling companions that a free afternoon would be best served with a short trip "upcountry" to this wonderful establishment. A noon reservation for the six of us was perfect. No wait and a great round table for conversations. We received special attention from behind the bar, as we had met Tristan at a club at Wailea earlier... More

A Bev Gannon restaurant that delivers good food, service and ambience. Extensive menu with meat, poultry and fish well represented. I had macadamia crusted mahi mahi, which had mango-lilikoi butter sauce, the endemic purple potato mash and tropical fruit salsa. Prices for fish are high on the island, so beware, as this dish will run you $42. Lots of interesting... More

Who would have thought you could combine hummus with sashimi on a pizza for a superb appetizer? The fish dinners were all equally magnificent and the pineapple upside down cake for desert a classic. Excellent service and classic old fashioned "general store" ambience. Well, it was a bit expensive at around $140 for two with 2 drinks but well worth... More

Cute place. Good service. Expensive everything. Meh food. Decided to go with recommendations from our server and both wished we had just gone with our instincts of what sounded good. The "award-winning" tai mai tasted like something I would have concocted out of whatever random liquids I could find in my parents' bar when I was 16. It tasted fine,... More

The restaurant that put Maui dining on the map. There is something about the evening light in the bright and airy restaurant that lowers everyone's blood pressure. Large entres. A great bar (order a liloquoi daiquiri and you won't be sorry). Excellent wine list. Reserve a front-room table and enjoy Jan Kaspritsky's lovely paintings. Popular at lunch.

Hali'imaile General Store was one of most highly-recommended places on my list of "places to check out in Maui." Not only did my friends praise it, but complete strangers that I met on my way to Maui told me that I MUST go there for a mango margarita. Not one to ignore that many tips, I made sure my fiancé... My son and I dined here after visiting Makai Glass Works across the street. I had heard many good things about the restaurant and was looking forward to trying it. I have to say the staff is excellent and very welcoming. Upon arrival and receiving the menu, I was very excited to see opakapaka on the menu. This is a... More

We enjoyed dining at the Hali'maile General Store in Nov 2014. My wife wanted to try the lamb french dip (she loves lamb) and I had the Fresh Catch. My plate was AMAZING. My wife unfortunately had to turn her plate back due to a much less than stellar plate. She too got the fresh catch and loved it. The... More

Excellent food and service. We needed more people to order more entrees to share. The fresh fish is always the best. I had fresh ono in an coconut currie with local vegetables. I finusged every drop of the currie sauce with the perfect white rice. My partner had fresh mahi-mahi with a different combo of fresh vegetable and mushrooms. For... More
