Hali'imaile General Store is Bev's original and most acclaimed restaurant featuring eclectic Pacific regional American cuisine with Asian overtones. We strive to use fresh, local ingredients and service with aloha. We look forward to sharing meals with loved ones, close friends and our new friends. Mahalo for your support and a hui hou (until we meet again).

Delicious!

Great food and nice atmosphere. The restaurant was a bit loud however. The curry stew was out of this world!

once you find this jewel...you'll love it. easy parking, because you're in the middle of nowhere... not really, but for tourists, it might feel this way. actually it's a perfect spot... the food and service are excellent, especially if you're lucky enough to be seated in Dale's section. he even remembers what we ordered a month ago when we can't!... Visiting Makawao for their unique gifts we added lunch at Haliimaile General Store. Wonderful selection of tastes and in particular the Lamb sandwich, a must for the meat lover. Goods wines and a comfortable lazy lunch away from the mediocre food and touristy Maui. Well worth the drive.

My husband and I love Hali'Maile, returning again and again. World famous owner/chef, Bev Gannon in very creative with her menu, making it a dining must. My husband's favorite is Sashimi Pizza;, mine is Sashimi Trio. Once you have eaten here you will want to return again and again.

A trip to Maui would not be complete without a meal at Hali'maile General Store. We shared the crab pizza which is sinful and a yearly favorite. The tomatoe burrata salad with pesto is chalk-full of flavor. And last but not least the pineapple upside cake with ice cream is a perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

This restaurant breaks all the rules. Anyplace this pricey ought to be oozing elegance, or at least have a few pretensions. Instead it looks just like what it is, an old converted store, attractive with local artwork on the walls, but very definitely casual. It is Hawaii, so expect a good selection of fish and seafood. Every one I've tried... More

After we completed a pineapple plantation tour, the driver suggested this restaurant. It is located in Upcountry, it is a former general store and the front of the restaurant still keeps the look of it. I had the Kalua Pork Enchilada Pie and this rendition of mole with pork was to die for. It has a huge portion so I... More

Kalua pork enchilada pie was one of the best meals that I have had in a long time -- really outstanding. Other things that were ordered were the ahi poke bowl and the kobe burger which were also very good. The restaurant has a great casual atmosphere. We absolutely would have gone back if time allowed. By far the best... More

I love the casual and relaxed atmosphere of Hali'imaile at lunchtime. I always promise myself that I will find a way up there for dinner, but somehow lunch always seems to work out better. I am always impressed with the simplicity of Bev Gannon's dishes. Her kitchen sure knows how to execute plates and presents food that is clean, amazingly... More
