We've been to a number of culinary arts programs, including the CIA in Napa and Kendall College in Chicago and this "Class Act", a part of the culinary arts program at UHMaui, rocks with those others. Only open for lunch and a tough reservation to get, it's fun to talk to the students and see what they are up to... More

After 3 years of hearing about the Maui Culinary Art School I finally coordinated my Maui visit with the last week the Class Act restaurant was open before winter break. The menu was French and absolutely fabulous. True, the host mispronounced some of the French offerings, but all the student staff were trying so hard. The meal is a prix... More

If you want a fabulous lunch on Maui, do NOT miss this place! Every time we visit Maui we have a lunch here, but unfortunately their schedule doesn't always match ours! Since it is on campus, they aren't open if the school is on break or during the beginning of a semester. BUT is they are open, we always make... More

We have done French twice, Latin, Moroccan, Asian, and now finally Italian and I have never had a bad meal here. The food and service has always been excellent and top notched. It use to be a set price (e.g. $32 per person) but now they have a price range depending on what entrée you choose ($29-$36.95) and there is... More

This is one of Maui's hidden gems. I was hesitant at first, but after reading the great reviews I just had to try this. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Maui Culinary Academy (above the cafeteria). The food is prepared by aspiring cooks and students and managed by the chef and dining room instructors - it's... More

The food and service was excellent. The cuisine was Moroccan when we went. The courses included: amuse bouche, naan bread, appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert.

If you want maximum value for your dining dollar, you can't do better than Lei's Class Act at bthe UH Maui culinary school. It's been a "must" destination on all of our trips to Maui ever since we discovered it. I'm mystified why there are so few reviews of this gem -- even at twice the price, you rarely will... More

My wife and I ate lunch there with Rotary Club of Maui, the culinary students practicising their skills on us Rotarians. I have no idea what we ate (they forgot to give us their menu for the day), but I do remember the appetizer was a crab cake that was sublime, and the entree and dessert were both delicious. Best... Joined them for their last dinner of the year on dec. 7. It was a 5 course dinner w/paired wines culinary extravaganza.. A few of the courses were duck, lamb, and scallops. It began with Champagne, and a caviar topped ahi(I believe) pupu. Everything was excellent & the service impeccable, We've dined here on all our previous maui trips. I... More

My wife and I discovered this gem several years ago on one of many trips to Maui. We've made it a must to have lunch there on every visit since. Already looking forward to returning next fall when friends will be joining us. Class Act's renditions of French, Italian, Latin cuisine -- whatever the theme -- is always flavorful, authentic...
