I work in a hospitality type business in downtown Augusta, and when people want to know a good place to eat downtown my top two recommendations are the Boll Weevil and Blue Sky Kitchen. Boll Weevil is famous for its wide selection of excellent deserts. They serve variety of fruit pies, cheese cakes, and other backed delights. They also have a variety of excellent sandwiches and salads. Portabella mushroom salad is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, service at this restaurant is a bit slow. I quit going there for lunch for that particular reason.... more

Terrific soups, sandwiches, and salads. The desserts are to die for! They serve their sandwiches on homemade bread with some very unique combinations. Everything I've had here is good. A casual environment with friendly service. more

Quaint little downtown restaurant. Good steaks and bread. I'm not a dessert person, but the desserts there are pretty darn good. HUGE slices of cakes that I swear are 2 feet tall. more
