I had forgotten about Rae's Coastal Café until my newlywed wife mentioned she would like to try a new restaurant in Augusta. This one came to mind and we were not disappointed. It does seem that this eatery caters to frequenting customers, but we were treated as though we had been eating there forever. The food is good, the wait... More

Big fan of this place. Great seafood and if you like "jerk" style flavoring you will really like the jerk pork and chicken wings.

Went for dinner on a weekday and the place was packed and loud, which was not a problem with me or my husband. Our server was attentive but seemed to be taking care of too many tables. Our entrees came with the house salad which was just average. My jerk chicken was flavorful and it came with a sauce on... More

After almost two years of living here, hearing such great things about "the best kept secret" in Augusta, we were sadly disappointed with our meal at Rae's. Yes, it was "off the beaten path"; through a labyrinth of neighborhoods, but it was hard to call it a carribean "oasis". We started our meal when the restaurant was relatively quiet. As... More

This restaurant is a hidden treasure. The building is old and rattle-trap looking from the outside, but a great surprise inside. The seafood is excellent, but the prime rib is also a great treat. Service was excellent. Definitely will be back soon.

We just finished a meal at this restaurant with some dear friends who highly recommend this gem. We ordered the the Frogmore Stew and had an issue with the shrimp smelling funny. Our waitress came back and and checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. I mentioned the issue and she promptly removed both dishes and sent... More

You will NEVER accidentally stumble across this restraunt, and on a selfish level I like to keep this hidden gem a secret to myself. For some great hand prepped food this is worthwhile to drive through some neighborhoods to get to. I went back twice in a week as all I could think about is the fantastic jerk chicken...easily ranked... More

I believe the owners are now divorced and the husband has taken over. It was a better place when the wife was in charge. The food is still good but not as much. Even the servers talk about the difference in management. The best part is the dessert but the prices are steep. Outdoor seating is nice but not when... More

Love this place. Great food and service. A bit pricey so I can only go here usually on lunch or date night but the steaks and seafood are tasty.

We've been in the Augusta area for nearly 17 years, and Rae's has always been one of our very favorite places to go. This place is so out-of-the-way that there are many Augusta natives that don't even know it exists! If you can find it (call for directions!), you will be rewarded by stepping into what truly feels like a... More
