I've heard that this place has gone down from what it used to be, and I'd have to assume that's true. We were there on an Sunday evening, so I give them some slack because I know what it's like to work in the biz on Sundays. Still, for the price ($29 for the fried grouper entree, $12 for a... More

We were seated first when the restaurant opened for lunch. They asked us immediately for our lunch order but it was our first visit so I asked for additional time. Took them quite a while to return for the order. The first meal came 50 minutes later and the other four meals came after we had been there an hour.... More

We loved Rae's Coastal Cafe fifteen years ago when we lived in Augusta. We visited this past weekend and couldn't wait to see if Rae's was as good as we remembered. We were delighted to find the food as good as we remembered, the atmosphere as festive, and the service as friendly. Highly recommend!!

Took my parents here to celebrate Father's day as well as their anniversary. Of course we expected that they would be busy, and we were prepared for that. Unfortunately, the restaurant, and specifically our server, didn't seem to be prepared for business. The server could not answer questions about the menu without leaving to ask someone else. He also seemed... More

In town for a college visit and followed a Tripadvisor review to Rae's. As others have said, it's more than a bit tricky to find and probably would not have made it without GPS (even then it was confusing). Nevertheless, well worth the effort. Fun, casual atmosphere with very good food. We had the jerk chicken wings to start and... More

While in town an associate gave us a recommendation to check out Rae' s. Well after a little challenge following the GPS through the local neighborhood we found the parking lot full - a clue that it is a well liked establishment. We ordered a crab cake and the salmon. Knowing that ordering a crab cake outside of Maryland can... More

I had forgotten about Rae's Coastal Café until my newlywed wife mentioned she would like to try a new restaurant in Augusta. This one came to mind and we were not disappointed. It does seem that this eatery caters to frequenting customers, but we were treated as though we had been eating there forever. The food is good, the wait... More

Big fan of this place. Great seafood and if you like "jerk" style flavoring you will really like the jerk pork and chicken wings.

Went for dinner on a weekday and the place was packed and loud, which was not a problem with me or my husband. Our server was attentive but seemed to be taking care of too many tables. Our entrees came with the house salad which was just average. My jerk chicken was flavorful and it came with a sauce on... More

After almost two years of living here, hearing such great things about "the best kept secret" in Augusta, we were sadly disappointed with our meal at Rae's. Yes, it was "off the beaten path"; through a labyrinth of neighborhoods, but it was hard to call it a carribean "oasis". We started our meal when the restaurant was relatively quiet. As... More
