Great breakfast spot and great local flavor. The breakfast Tacos are my personal favorite. The place is very kid friendly and the staff has fun with the kids. We have had dinner there a few times and it was good, but breakfast or brunch is our favorite. more
We had the peach french toast and strawberry lemonade for Sunday brunch. The lemonade was amazing, and the french toast was deceptively large - I couldn't finish a full order. My girlfriend is pregnant and if we eat out it HAS to be mama's boy! The servers are all super cool and hip but they don't seem to mind if you aren't. Good food with heart. There is faster food and there is cheaper food but I have not found better food in athens. more
The food was okay.... the batter the fried okra, fried green tomatoes, and fried chicken is in is different.. Sweet tea wasnt even good.. I was expecting some outstanding country food... especially when the fried chicken was almost $13.00......Will not go back for dinner again. Mama's Boy is the kind of place you find only in good college towns. The food is very good, and an incredible value for the price. such a cute, quirky place- great to take visitors bc it has the "southern diner" vibe going on.... great diner type food, i'd recommend it for breakfast or lunch but not a nice dinner.... just a fun, casual meal more
This little gem of a place is like an old timey diner from the fifties and the food is a gem too. Breakfast is consistently fabulous, but lunch offers a variety of good offerings too. If nothing suits your fancy, try the pimento cheese topped hamburger. Yum! more
