Sitting on the Porch at Mama's Boy

This was my third time to go to Mama's Boy in Athens, GA. The cheesy grits were creamy and delicious. Stuffed Peach French Toast was served on Tuesday and it was so good. This place will be on my list to visit each time I come to this area.

Made it to Pancake Tuesday. A wonderful little place for breakfast. Lovelly presentation n great flavors. Worth getting up for. Stack of pancakes n ready for nice long nap or great walk at the park right behind it. Yummy!😊

My 12 year old daughter and I ate at Mama's Boy at about 2:00 last Sunday afternoon. As many other reviewers have mentioned, there was a wait to be seated. There is a station set up outside with coffee, etc for people who are waiting. Luckily we were able to park right in front, so we waited in the car.... More

Mama's Boy has a big following, especially for breakfast, and so it's always bustling and parking can be hard to find. The food tastes pretty good and they have some interesting menu items, but it's just not healthy enough for my taste. I like whole grains and lots of greens and veggies, even for breakfast, so I haven't been here... More

We had heard this was the place to eat for breakfast. Lots of hype. Well I say it was ok. I've had better. The service was great but the food average. I didn't really find anything on the menu that blew me away. I opted for the French toast. My husband had the special which was a egg, Swiss cheese,... More

If you can bear the wait, the food is great. But there always seems to be a long line to get in and it never seems like the effort. Salads and sandwiches are a good bet.

No doubt this is a popular place - very noisy and crowded but in a college town that's not unusual. Some of the food was very good - the mashed potatoes and sausage gravy get high marks. The fried chicken was a bit hard but overall it was adequate. They specialize in breakfast and brunch, so perhaps I'll try again... More

Went for breakfast Monday morning at 10 and we were immediately welcomed and sat. Server came within minutes and was excellent from beginning to end. Ordered pulled pork biscuit and my wife ordered veggie and potato hash. Serving portions were more than enough and the food was delicious. Definitely stop here next time in town, we will.

Upon our arrival at 10 AM on Sunday it took 45 minutes to seat our party of 5 but it was worth the wait. Our server, Matt, was pleasant and hardworking. Three in our group had the Southern Eggs Benedict special - traditional except for an open face biscuit instead of English muffins. $10.99. Looked and tasted great. Two others... More

I love everything about Mama's Boy! The atmosphere is eclectic, the servers are super friendly, the coffee is second to none...and the food is THE BOMB! Everything on the menu is delicious, you really can't go wrong. I always opt for the veggie scramble and cheese grits with a biscuit. The jam provided on the table will leave your mouth... More
